Early 19th century George III cut glass claret jug, with six matched dram glasses. The jug with flower shaped stopper and of bulbous form, with six ridges to the neck and diamond cut square design atop a circular wave & criss cross design, the glasses with similar pattern. The jug to measure approx. 26cm tall with stopper, the glasses 10cm.
An antique glass intaglio, within 18th/19th century gold ring mount, carved to depict a classical scene with two fleeing figures, ring size approximately H-I (shank oval). £160-260 --- This scene may represent the classical myth of the fateful lovers Orpheus and Eurydice. Condition Report Shank rather compressed, cut to the reverse and resized down. Glass intaglio with surface wear and conchoidal chip to border. Gross weight 7.8gm.
A WALNUT AND FLORAL MARQUETRY CABINET ON CHEST PROBABLY ANGLO-DUTCH, 18TH CENTURY With paper ownership label 200cm high, 99cm wide, 58cm deep Condition Report: Overall there are some scratches, marks, knocks, cracks and abrasions consistent with age and use.There are some losses, restorations and observations including:The top with some cracks and a wooden brace. Some sections of moulded beading are detached or missing.There is some evidence of old worm.Some veneer sections of marquetry are cut so that the design is cut through and they do not match the design of the adjacent veneers. The glass to the door is bevelled glass, the glazed sides are not bevelled. The sides and door with parquetry bands - to the sides they are complete octagons around marquetry reserves, the the door the band stops abruptly and does not traverse the arched top. These features might suggest that the cabinet has in some way been adapted.The handles and locks to the oak lined drawers are later. The door has a key and the door is lined with blue paper. The interior shelves lined with green velvet that is marked from the objects in the cabinet.There is some fading.Please see the additional condition report photographs through the link on the condition report email as a visual reference of condition. HENRI PICARD (FL. 1831-1864), AN ORMOLU CENTREPIECE STAND FRENCH, MID 19TH CENTURY The stand depicting young girl of a girl in front of a flame flanked by fruiting vines, the later jagged edged glass dish with cut star decoration, underside of stand stamped 'H Picard' and numbered 1201 28.5cm high overall, dish 30.5cm diameter The fondeur-doreur Henri Picard was established in 1831 at 6 rue Jarente, and from 1839 to 1864 at 10 rue de la Perle. He contributed work to the Petits Appartements of Napoleon Ill at the Louvre. For an example of work by Picard please see Dreweatts 1759, Fine Furniture and works of Art auction, 30 Mar 2023 lot 512.
