Lot 202

A Felons skull early 19th Century in antique glass dome the skull inscribed John Parker hanged for robbing Henbury Church and De Boudrie`s school the skull has been partially cut away to serve as an anatomical specimen, the dome 30cm.; 12ins high by 30cm.; 12ins wide sold together with a photocopied newspaper cutting detailing the execution. |Execution - On Saturday John Parker, aged 36, and Thomas Rodway, aged 30, were executed at the drop, on the top of the lodge at Glocester Gaol, pursuant to the sentence at the late Assized, for a burglary in the dwelling-house of Mrs Grey, at Clifton, near Bristol. Although obdurate at first, they at last became more sensible of their awful situation, and died with due penitence. Parker was born in the parish of Langley, near Chippenham|.

Split at base of stem. Solder visible on centre frame. Some small chips to glass. One of the larger bottles has the glass stopper stuck in it. Please see images (available upon request).

Lot 43

A William IV silver seven bottle cruet, by Barnard Brothers, London 1833, of shaped rectangular form, on four shell capped bracket feet and shell capped scroll loop handle, with a silver mounted cut glass mustard, a pair of silver mounted casters and four additional glass bottles, one with silver cayenne pepper spoon, crested with motto and monogram, 24cm high CONDITION REPORT: General wear. Number of chips to glass; one stopper broken. Rubbing to detail on silver frame. Some small dents to base and one replacement nut beneath. The two pierced silver caster lids don't fit well; one glass bottle has a silver collar that means it is too tight and the second bottle is missing its collar. Small dent and split to spoon aperture on silver cover of mustard. Crest, motto and monogram, engraved to centre stem. Please see images (available upon request).

A cut glass and silver mounted vinaigrette, early 19th century, unmarked, of oval form, the cover decorated with a starburst within a lozenge shield, the gilt grille with pinprick piercing, 2.75cm long, and a silver vinaigrette, by Jospeh Bettridge, Birmingham 1829, of rectangular form decorated in relief with a courting couple, with engine turned base and reeded sides and pierced gilt grille, 4.25cm long (2)

A parasol, the handle decorated with bands of blue and white enamel, with mint-green silk shade, 98cm long, a parasol, by J Howell & Co Ltd., with cut glass finial mounted in a gilt metal coronet, with black silk shade, 92cm long, another parasol, with glass handle with gilt metal garland mounts, with floral silk shade, 98cm long, and an umbrella, with hardstone/marble and gilt metal handle and black shade, 79cm long (4) CONDITION REPORT: Blue enamel - numerous chips; losses and bruises to enamel; parasol silk disintegrating. Garland example - garland mount loose; wear and discolouration to gilt mounts; rips to shade. Howell - knocks and discolouration to gilt coronet mount. Hardstone - chips and bruises to terminal; wear to gilt mounts.

A gentlemen's 18ct rose gold Omega Genève mechanical strap watch, a circular brushed champagne dial with raised batons and eight cut diamond dot markers at 9, 12 and 3. Hands and subsidiary seconds dial hand deficient. Case no. 277596 2903, movement no. 15600996, caliber 267. Swiss assay marks for 18ct gold CONDITION REPORT: The buckle is a gold pated Omega buckle that appears consistant with the age of the watch. Plating poor. Glass loose. Winds and ticking, but no guarantee given as to time keeping. No box of papers. Case 35mm diameter.

Lot 437

A ladies' stainless steel diamond set Patek Philippe Aquanaut Luce quartz strap watch, a cushion shaped embossed white dial with luminous hands and batons, with black Arabic numerals and centre second sweep. A line of brilliant cut diamonds, grain set to the bezel, to an embossed composite strap with deployant buckle. No box or papers CONDITION REPORT: Scratches to the glass. Not in working order (possibly requires a new battery). Diamond set bezel dirty. Light scratches to the bezel and case, more to the case back. Clasp scratched but secure. Strap in wearable condition. No obvious damage.

A George III silver mounted glass oil and vinegar cruet, by Jabez Daniell & James Mince, London 1768, the wire work frame on four beaded shell feet, with beaded scroll handle, the two mounted cut glass bottles with similar beaded leaf capped scroll handles, the covers crested with coronets above, 22.5cm high, 14oz CONDITION REPORT: Bottle mounts unmarked.
