A Georgian mahogany decanter box late 18th century, in the form of a cylinder bureau, the convex front with two miniature roundel handles and mother of pearl teardrop escutcheon, the interior containing six square decanters with domed shoulders and arched cut panels on all sides, gilt decoration with florette spandrels to upper sections, gilt flattened balloon form stoppers, front compartment holding a glass tray, lid interior holds two faceted stem glasses, 10½in. (26.75cm.) high, 10½in. (26.75cm.) wide.
George III mahogany longcased clock, brass dial with painted rolling moon, silvered Roman chapter ring with Arabic minutes and dates, the field engraved with huntsmen, four pillar movement striking the hour on a bell, the backplate engraved No 67, in a swan neck hood with glass panels, fluted columns, on a quarter column trunk and cut corner plinth, height 220cm (pendulum and two weights). *See clocks and watches proviso.
An 18ct gold, glass-filled ruby and diamond dress ring, the large oval mixed cut ruby, estimated weight 15.37cts, claw set above shoulders with shield shaped inset plaques pavé set with round brilliant diamonds to a broad tapered two tier band, size N, of hallmarked 18ct gold, Birmingham 2006 The ruby is quite a light red, edging towards pink with orange hints more dominant than blue; it measures 17.78 x 13.17 x 7.81mm. The crown has various small nibbles and abrasions and a scratch down a facet edge; and some of the fine fractures are surface-rising. There are no notable areas of `windowing`, but numerous fine inclusions, veils and feathers with areas that catch the light like platelets - assumed to be micron sized gaps; small colour flashes can be observed with the right light and angles; there is one distinct hexagon of fine silk, the lines straight, the angles crisp. The ruby fluoresces under UV light - very faintly in SW and strongly red in LW. The setting is solid and sound, just light wear and tear appropriate to age.
Two Victorian enamel and diamond floral plaque brooches, the first of diaper outline with a royal blue guilloche enamel ground and ornate rococo style frame, within which is a loose bunch of flowers set with graduated seed pearls and two with rose cut diamond centres, verso engraved with four sets of initials - MFM, JM, DM and GM - perhaps the original owner`s four children; width 5.4cm; together with a lace pin with scrolling rectangular outline frame containing a black enamel ground and a single flower, whose petals, stamen and leaves are set with rose cut diamonds, verso with panel lacking glass, length 2.3cm (2)
