She received it as a thank you token for her work and devotion to the Camondo family in Paris before WWII. She was in service to the family as a nanny. She gave this piece of Gallé glass to the present vendor as a thank you for taking her back to the family home, now the Musée Nissim de Camondo, on a special journey of remembrance in the early 1970's. The top has been cut down/ground down.
