An early Victorian 71st Highlanders Officer's Dirk, circa 1850, the 31cm double blade with facet edge back ebonised baluster set with brass studs above a gilt mount of acanthus and oak leaves the rear with crossed swords and plumed hat, inset with facet cut foiled glass, in original leather scabbard, the blade stamped Joel Edwards & Sons, London, knife and fork en suite. CONDITION REPORT: Minor blade corrosions, the gilt brass tip of scabbard missing and perhaps four brass studs to the reverse of the pommell.
