Director's Comments: I have always loved 'The Retrospective of Churches' that John Piper did in the Curwen Studio - but this vivid view of the Raredos at North Grimstone remains my favourite.
A very scarce original Michelin Tyres lithograph advertising poster, featuring the amusing image of Mr Bibendum riding a Motorcycle of the period. Poster is offered in excellent condition and professionally mounted on linen for preservation. Originally printed for the Italian market at Verga Printers in Milano, 1959. The poster has a date indicated in the bottom right corner "Mod. 1172 - 4 -59. Framed and glazed to a very high standard. Poster - 19x27 inches.
After Charlie Johnson Payne (Snaffles) (British, 1884-1967) 'An Irish Point-to-Point', hand coloured lithograph, signed and inscribed 'Yoi, over!' in pen, 21½ x 29in. (54.5 x 73.5cm.). Condition: Some vertical creasing visible to paper, caused by rolling before framing. These are more pronounced around and just to the right of the title, which has caused some vertical undulations to the paper, and there are three lines of time staining corresponding with these undulations. The paper overall is fairly clean and the colours good. No tears, splits or restoration. In a 1950s period gilt frame.

English School (19th Century) View of Bathford Bridge with a Great Western locomotive crossing inscribed lower left under the mount "Taken from an old print of the first train crossing Bathford Bridge circa 1839", indistinctly signed with initials "ERB *** S * ** N ***" watercolour 30½ x 46cm (12 x 18in) The original lithograph by Elizabeth Tackle (1808-1877) was exhibited in the Bradford on Avon Museum. The lithograph shows the Great Western Railway bridge at Bathford, Somerset, with a "Firefly" class locomotive pulling a train towards London. The Bradford Road leads past the Crown Inn to ascend the hills beyond Bathford village. The bridge was built by Isambard Kingdom Brunel. A little loss of colour.
A Swiss ¾lls in sight' automaton music box, Picard-Lion, Geneva A Swiss ¾lls in sight' automaton music box, Picard-Lion, Geneva, late 19th century, the mechanism playing a choice of ten airs via an 11 inch pinned brass cylinder and tuned steel comb with additional accompaniment on six bells played in pairs by one of three seated figures in Oriental dress, the mechanism driven by single crank-wound spring drum mounted on gilt iron bed with tune indication sector beneath hinged glass internal cover with CHANGE/REPEAT and STOP/PLAY selection levers to right hand side, the lid pasted with hand-written tune sheet within lithograph landscape decorated borders centred with a pair of figures in traditional Swiss Alpine dress to foreground, the lower margin inscribed PICARD, LION, EDITEUR, GENEVE, the exterior with musical trophy marquetry decoration within line-strung borders to lid and cast brass handles to the grained sides, on ebonised squab feet, 58cm wide.
