*Martin Sharp (b.1942), `LEGALISE CANNABIS, THE PUTTING TOGETHER OF HEADS`, 1967 Colour offset lithograph poster, printed in red and black ink on gold metallic foiled paper 50 x 75cm. Martin Sharp was born in Australia in 1942 and is considered to be one of the foremost underground artists working in the 1960s. He designed album covers for Bob Dylan and Cream. This poster advertises a Legalise Cannabis Rally held in Speakers’ Corner, Hyde Park, London in July 1967. It features a collage of figures appropriated by Sharp from 19th century ethnographic engravings.

MONUMENTAL LITHOGRAPH - `Geta and Caracalla`, 1907, by Lawrence Alma-Tadema (Dutch-English, 1836-1912), the Victorian Romanticist made famous by his depictions of Classical Roman life, pencil signed lower left, printed by Stiefbold & Co of Boston for Arthur Tooth of London, depicting the brothers who co-ruled Rome at the Colosseum. Housed in the original magnificent gilt architectural frame, with dimensional mat, glazed, image size: 25" x 31", OS: 46 1/2" x 49", fine condition, small loss to cornice on left side.
COLOR LITHOGRAPH - `Behind the Screen` by Raphael Soyer (NY, 1899-1987), pencil signed lower right, from an un-numbered edition of 300, depicting a partially dresed woman, toweling her temple, in gold mitered frame, matted and glazed, SS: 19 1/4" x 12 3/4", OS: 28 1/4" x 21 1/2", fine condition, not examined out of frame.
