Beryl Cook (British, 1926-2008)- 'Sultry afternoon' Pencil signed limited edition colour lithograph, no.662/850, published by Alexander Gallery Publications Ltd in Bristol, oval, approx 35x47cm, framed. CONDITION REPORT: Lot 715A: Minor yellowing to the edges of the paper. Free from foxing. Appears to be in good condition. Print is framed therefore the condition of the edges and back is unknown.

Provenance: The Estate of Roger Margerum [1930-2015], a Detroit-based architect known for his innovative light filled designs. His works include the Ambassador Bridge shelter, The Air force Academy in Colorado Springs, Hart Plaza, and his own home, a 45 degree polygon house built on Detroit’s east side once featured in the Fall 2008 issue of Detroit Home magazine. He passed away in June at the age of 85.

•GRAHAM SUTHERLAND (1903-1980) "Thorn Cross: Orange Background", printed reverse signature lower left, further signed in pencil to the margin and numbered 84/100, coloured lithograph, 20" x 26" (plate). See illustration. This lithograph was printed at the master studios of Mourlot Freres, Paris. The same company who were responsible for assisting with the works of Picasso, Chagall and Miro, this image "Thorn Cross" is considered to be Sutherland's most iconic work from the 1950's.
