Amitiés Pierre Lecuire" on half-title, 2 burin copper engravings by de Staël, loose as issued in original colour lithograph wrappers by de Staël, uncut, spine torn, 8vo Paris, 1953.⁂ The poet's first book and the first of several produced in conjunction with or about his friend, the artist Nicolas de Staël.
Lecuire (Pierre).- de Staël (Nicolas).- Lecuire (Pierre) Maximes, number 194 of 210 copies signed by the author/printer, signed presentation copy from the author "...en toute amitié..." with long inscription dated Paris, Mai 2009 to half-title, tipped-in facsimile letter from Nicolas de Staël to Lecuire, loose as issued in original colour lithograph wrappers by Nicolas de Staël, uncut, spine very lightly browned, board slip-case, [Artist and the Book in France p.342], small 4to, Paris, Pierre Lecuire, 1955.⁂ De Staël assisted Lecuire in the designing of the book, with its unusual use of capitals throughout. It was one of the artist's last projects before he committed suicide in March 1955 in Antibes.

India.- Turnbull (Major John) Sketches of Delhi taken during the Siege, first edition, tinted lithograph pictorial title and 14 plates, lithograph dedication leaf with list of plates to verso, leaves of letterpress facing each plate, foxing and water-staining throughout, a few leaves frayed and soiled at edges, original cloth, lettered in gilt to upper cover, corners rubbed, covers slightly soiled and mottled, rebacked, [not in Abbey], folio, 1858.⁂ Scarce. Turnbull was ADC to Brigadier-General Archdale Wilson, the commander of British troops on the ridge facing Delhi during the Indian Mutiny of 1857.

Edward Piper (1938-1990) - 'In the Conservatory 1990', signed artist proof also numbered 151/175 and extensively inscribed on various labels verso, coloured lithograph, 19.25" x 24.75"*Edward Blake Christmas Piper was an English painter whose father John Piper was one of Britain's most famous artists, he studied art at The Bath Academy, Corsham and The Slade School of Art, London. He worked as a photographer and graphic designer as well as a painter and for some twenty years did the photography and picture layout for the Shell County Guides, published by Faber & Faber.*Provenance, The Augustus Galleries St Julians Street, Tenby, Dyfed and bearing the CCA Galleries certificate of authentication Published by the CCA Galleries and printed by the Appledore Studios in 1990.

Benjamin Disraeli as a Young Man, monochrome watercolour heightened with bodycolour on paper, full-length portrait of Disraeli standing in nonchalent pose leaning one elbow on a mantelpiece, with a long smoking pipe resting on the sofa behind, and a sheath of ornamental daggers hanging on the wall, titled to lower margin, 12.6 x 8.5cm (5 x 3.25ins), verre eglomise mount, framedQty: (1)NOTESAfter the portrait of Disraeli executed by Maclise for 'Fraser's Magazine' and published in lithograph by James Fraser in 1833. The National Portrait Gallery has a pen & ink drawing of Disraeli by or after Daniel Maclise which is almost identical in compostion (NPG 3093). Novelist and statesman Benjamin Disraeli (1803-1881), who served twice as Prime Minister, was famous for his dandyism. Maclise's portrait, with its flamboyant dress style, careless pose, and smoking pipe, portrays him in this guise.
