A colour lithograph of Major Eustace Loder’s ‘Pretty Polly’ with W Lane up, published by Gilbert Whitehead & Co. Ltd, New Eltham, framed & glazed, 47 by 57cm., 18 1/2 by 22 1/2in. The great Pretty Polly won 22 of her 24 races including the fillies’ Triple Crown in 1904. Other notable victories included the Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot and the Nassau Stakes at Goodwood, and the Park Hill Stakes at Doncaster.
