HENRY GALLY KNIGHT ESQE FRS FSA "The Ecclesiastical Architecture of Italy from the time of Constantine to the 15th Century with an introduction and text by ...." Volumes I and II, published Henry Bohn, London 1842, tooled and gilded cloth board bound with tooled and gilded spines, folio (Provenance: formerly the property of Richard Hungerford Pollen Bart) CONDITION REPORTS Bindings appear basically sound but with plenty of wear and tear and discolouration throughout particularly to "1st series" where one book appears to have been laid upon it allowing sun bleach to edging, lithograph frontest piece very foxed through colour clear. Vol 1 containing 40 plates (complete) Vol 2 in similar condition and 41 plates (complete) in both cases some leaves throughout each vol loose due to drying out and all with various degrees of foxing, see examples images

Thomas Jones (early 19th century) A Windsor 'Pair' (Pear), Daily Seen at the Royal Table, Published [...] by T. Bird, No. 1 Wells St, Oxford St [London 1833], hand-coloured lithograph, integrated novelty movable flaps lifting to reveal William IV and Queen Adelaide, 25.5cm x 19.5cm Scarce. Not recorded in O'Donoghue's 'Catalogue of Engraved British Portraits'. For a similar example see the Royal Collection, RCIN 630124.

dating: first quarter of the 19th Century provenance: France Fine lithograph with the subtitle "Ou la Mort du General d'Hautpoull" depicting the moment when Murat ordered to attack the Russian army near Eylau on February 14th, 1807; at the centre Murat followed by the General Jean Joseph Ange d'Hautpoul's cuirassiers, at the left side the General deadly wounded, rescued by one of his dragoons. The bottom marked "Carle Vernet" on the left hand side and "Gravé par F.F. Wolff" on the right hand side. Later, gilt frame, under glass. dimensions: dimensions 71 x 56 cm.
