A kinsman of the antiquary, collector and author, Richard Payne Knight of Downton Castle the house was later sold to the Brown-Westhead family. Two drawings of Lea Castle by James Ward and a collection of picturesque landscape watercolours by C W Bampfylde (see lot 758) a friend of Knight, from Knight's collection were sold in these 'rooms ( ) All in fine clean condition, portfolio with old localised damp stains.
