Draeger, Germany, late c.1888? ventilator as marked on makers plate also bearing the words Gesetzlich & Geschutz, this is a spirit fired, hot air operated ventilation fan with copper base reservoir, brass column with pierced decoration/vents, cooling vanes at top, supporting a 6 inch diameter ball enclosing the inner cylinder and fan rotation shaft. Overall 19 inches tall, fan blades 14 inches tip to tip. Original brass filler cap in base, base has central spigot for wick which is missing. Similar items are seen in Bing & Doll catalogues. Top sphere has a circular brass eye stamped 1888 or L777-indistinct. A rare survivor
