MacG. 1946'', the other, surmounted by two model gliders, and a collection of photographs and ephemera pertaining to the recipient Note: The Horten Brothers, both members of the Luftwaffe during the Second World War, designed a revolutionary series of aircraft for the Third Reich based on the Flying Wing concept. Some of these aircraft were based at Oerlinghausen. At the conclusion of the war, one prototype example, the jet-propelled Ho 229 V3, attracted particular interest from the Allied forces, its construction properties allegedly rendering it invisible to radar. The original aircraft was shipped to America where it formed the basis of research, culminating in the design of the Northrop Grumman B-2 SpiritAll items in good condition
