William Penn (1644-1718) was an English colonial proprietor and the son of the admiral and politician Sir William Penn. Penn was a writer, early Quaker, and founder of the English North American colony the Province of Pennsylvania. He was an early advocate of democracy and religious freedom, notable for his good relations and successful treaties with the Lenape Native Americans, and under his direction, the city of Philadelphia was planned and developed. A man of deep religious convictions, Penn wrote numerous works in which he exhorted believers to adhere to the spirit of Primitive Christianity. He was imprisoned several times in the Tower of London due to his faith.

Star cut decanter basically sound though with wear to base. Pair of bell shaped decanters appear basically sound whilst stoppers fit not sure stylistically they are original, remaining decanters mostly with clouding and/or chips/cracks - see images for further details.
