1985 Rolls Royce Silver Spirit 6750 cc 4 door saloon Guide; £10,000 to £12,000 Registration: BOY 202H Chassis: Odometer: 49,788 Tranmission: Automatic MOT: Expired Outside • Lovely light oyster over metallic dark oyster • All panels are dent free and straight • No rust or rot evident anywhere • N/s front passenger door has small bubbling where the handle meets the door - less than the size of a 5 pence piece • Driver's door has been opened against a wall a few times resulting in some minor paint chips on its trailing edge • Chromework is in excellent condition . This is the nicest Silver Spirit i've seen for a long time Inside • Wonderful parchment leather piped with brown piping • Only very slight discolouring to driver's seat base • Wood veneer is in excellent order as is the iconic thin rim bakelite steering wheel • Period correct Blaupunkt radio cassette player • Parchment carpets and over mats in excellent condition • Leather headlining in perfect condition • All the electrics seem to function • Fitted with air conditioning Mechanicals • Starts well and soon settles into a satisfying burble at idle • Pulls well through all the gears • Stops well, straight and true • Under the bonnet is very clean, as seen in our photos • The underside has recently been treated to a coat of underseal which looks factory fresh • Stainless steel exhaust system . This car does have a water leak from somewhere and there appears to oil contamination in the water and water contamination in the oil, which would suggest a cylinder head gasket fault, although we urge serious bidders to inspect the car and make up their own mind before bidding. The bodywork and interior are almost perfect and look better than even a vehicle of this low mileage would present. Silver Spirits have slowly been on the up and this example is probably as good as you you will find with this mileage.
A First World War Army Meritorious Service Group of Four Medals, awarded to M2-032754 PTE.A.(Arnold) PICKLES, A.S.C., comprising Army Meritorious Service Medal (R.A.S.C.), 1914-15 Star, British War Medal,Victory Medal, swing mounted, and Defence Medal in box of issue, together with two sets of miniatures, a hand written diary "My Recollections of Three Years as a Prisoner of War in Germany", a scrap book filled with letters, photographs, newspaper cuttings etc, and a quantity of ephemera and unpublished stories, including "The Spirit of the Hardwicks", newspapers etc.; a Nickel Plated "The Alma Belt" Clasp, of shaped square form, set with the standing figure of Britannia and a lion, the upper corners stamped with the Union Jack and the French National Flag with a star and crescent between, the lower corners stamped with field guns, the reverse embossed BATTLE OF THE ALMA/SEPT.20 1854/THE ALMA BELTFootnote:- Arnold Pickles was born in the village of Heaton, near Bradford at the end of the 19th Century. He enlisted in the Army in January 1915 and was sent to France, then Belgium, with the Army Service Corps attached to the 3rd Canadian Field Ambulance, driving Red Cross ambulances. On the night of the 24th April 1915, Arnold was sent with another ambulance to collect some casualties from a remote dressing station in St. Julien near Ypres and unfortunately drove into enemy territory where they were fired upon. His colleagues were killed, and he was captured. He was sent to a German Prisoner of War camp where he remained until the end of the war. Whilst in the camp he was seconded to work in the operating theatre assisting a German surgeon- Dr. W. Seuling. A handwritten letter from Dr Seuling is clipped into the above scrap book.After the war Arnold returned to life in his home village of Heaton where he worked as a car mechanic and eventually established his own company of Rossfield Motors, Heaton Road, Heaton, Bradford.At the outbreak of the Second World War he joined the Home Guard, Northern Command and served under the honourary rank of 2nd Lieutenant.He died just before his 97th birthday.

Carved Chinese lavender jade depicting two small figures surrounded by fruits and foliage including pomegranates. Possibly riding a cloud indicating their nature as a spirit or immortal. With a carved wooden stand.Jade; height: 5 in x width: 8 1/4 in x depth: 3 1/4 in. Base; height: 2 in x width: 9 1/2 in x depth: 4 3/4 in.Condition: The jade is in good condition with no major cracks, losses, or chips. Light wear and natural lines throughout; natural lines are most noticeable along the underside. To the left of the jade, there is a minute chip to one of the leaves. Wear along the underside; there are several scattered areas with red and brown accretions. No visible sign of restoration. Wear to the base; along the top, there is adhesive affixed.
