Extremely rare 1st ed of little remembered Irish early nineteenth-century author Thomas Ashe. Copac locates only 4 copies of this ed, one of which is in Trinity college. 3 Vols complete. A book which garnered some notoriety when first published in 1811, as it was believed to have been a thinly veiled account of the relationship between George IV and Queen consort, Caroline, it went through four editions by 1812, and its 7th by 1820. Also of note was the swashbuckling career of the author Thomas Ashe himself. The title page of each volume is inscribed by Sir Pryse Pryse of Gogaddan, Wales. [3].
