Distilled: 03/05/1985 Bottled: 01/04/2015 Matured in Casks #12299-12302 Bottle Number: 88 / 389 41.9% ABV / 70cl **the hammer price of this lot is subject to VAT at the standard rate** Please note the image on this lot is for illustrative purposes only. If you require further information about this particular bottle, please request a condition report. Built by Seagram in the late 1950s, Glen Keith provided malt whisky for the Chivas, Passport and 100 Pipers blends until it was eventually mothballed in 1999. By 2001, the company was acquired by French conglomerate Pernod-Ricard, who refurbished the distillery and pressed it back into service in 2013. In addition to providing blending stock, the distillery is home to the Chivas Brothers lab, who’s experiments have included the production of a heavily peated spirit known as Glenisla. Official releases from Glen Keith are extremely thin on the ground, so the best plan for those keen to sample the seldom seen single malt is to hunt down some of the excellent indie releases. "Whinnie the Pooh would love this, all runny honey sweetness" – Whisky Magazine #133 Scored 8.8/10 Lombard Tasting Notes - Superb honey, fruity sweet nose. Compact marzipan, almondy and pine. Spice explosion with lovely orange liqueur and dried ginger on the palate. The finish is fab with its brilliant fruity tannins. Love it …

Situated near the coastal Aberdeenshire town of Stonehaven, the Glenury distillery was established in 1825 by Captain Robert Barclay, the grandfather of powerwalking who once famously marched 1000 miles in 1000 hours for 1000 guineas. A celebrity of the time, Barclay’s influence helped him secure the distillery a highly prised Royal Warrant from King William IV. By 1953 ownership of Glenury had passed to DCL, who oversaw production until 1985 when the distillery was mothballed and subsequently demolished: yet another victim of the whisky crash of the early eighties. However, following its demise, releases such as DCL’s iconic Rare Malts series have helped introduce Glenuy’s elegant spirit to a new generation of single malt afficionados. With remaining stock dwindling, this rare whisky is now highly prized. "Not enough space to describe the brilliance of this whisky" - Whisky Magazine #136 Scored 9.5/10 Lombard Tasting Notes - Nose indicates a big, big whisky. Deep and rich. Beautifully balanced. Palate has honey, cooked fruit, lychee syrup and a little cinnamon, a long and rummy coating finish. A very special whisky from a lost distillery.

Purpose built in 1881 by William Baxter, Bunnahabhain distillery on the northeast coast of Islay featured housing for its workers, as well as its own pier for ease of transporting whisky and materials to and from the mainland. However, since its takeover by Distell in 2013 around 20% of the spirit produced there is now heavily peated, with these expressions bearing the name “Moine” (the Gaelic word for peat). "All well-mannered with this gentle elegance" - Scotchwhisky.com scored 8.0/10 Lombard Tasting Notes -?Smoky nose leads to fruity undertones. Smooth initial palate with a distinctive light oiliness, perhaps minty toffee. Finish is long with smoky notes.

Purpose built in 1881 by William Baxter, Bunnahabhain distillery on the northeast coast of Islay featured housing for its workers, as well as its own pier for ease of transporting whisky and materials to and from the mainland. As with most distilleries, much of its life was spent producing blending stock, but in the late 1980s it began to appear as a single malt. Initially this single malt output was mostly sherry matured and so lightly peated as to be barely perceptible, placing Bunna’ firmly in the minority of Islay whiskies. 1999 Bentley Arnage Green Label Transmission: automaticMileage:78000The Bentley Arnage was launched in 1998, a large luxury saloon car that replaced the previous Bentley Turbo saloon. Built by Bentley Motors in Crewe from 1998 to 2009, the Arnage and its Rolls-Royce sibling the Silver Seraph, were introduced in the Spring of 1998 and were the first entirely new designs for the two marques since 1980 when the Silver Spirit and Mulsanne models were introduced. The Arnage Green Label was to be powered by a powerful BMW V8 engine with Cosworth-engineered twin-turbo chargers. This handsome Bentley was registered in March 1999 and since then has covered less than 80,000 miles, an average of just over 3,000 miles per year. The car presents extremely well in Silver coachwork with recently Connollised parchment leather. The file for this classic British car contains a V5C registration document, a recently passed MoT test certificate and various bills and receipts for servicing work. These include invoices from marque specialist Silver Lady Services between 2012 and 2015 that total nearly £10,000. Recently recommissioned, this Bentley is offered at a fraction of its original cost and has even been professionally fitted with an LPG conversion to further reduce running costs. 1931 Rolls-Royce 20 / 25 Sedanca de Ville by Windovers Transmission: manualMileage:57000First registered on 7th May 1931 and finished in pastel blue and black with black leather interior, GNS75 was initially ordered by J.J. Jones of 88 St. James's Street, London however the first owner was actually Hylton Ralph Murray-Philipson (Jnr) of Stobo Castle, Peebles. Stobo Castle had been purchased by Hylton Murray-Philipson Snr in 1905 and in 1924 he conveyed the estate to his son who was a pioneer aviator. Hylton's career consisted of being the C.O. of the City of Edinburgh Auxiliary Air Force Squadron, Conservative MP for Twickenham; Chairman of N.E. Marine Engineering Company and a member of the King's Bodyguard for Scotland and the Royal Company of Archers. Hylton Murray-Philipson suffered from ill health and died in 1934 aged 32 leaving GNS75 to his wife Monica and two young children. In 1939 Monica Murray-Philipson sold Stobo Castle to Wenefryde Agatha Scott, 10th Countess of Dysart and after 10 years of being a widow Monica married Colonel P.H. Lloyd of Stone House in Blaston. The Colonel and Murray-Philipson had business connections as they were both company directors of Manvers Main Collieries Ltd €“ Murray-Philipson in 1923/33 and Lloyd in 1940/47. In 1943 GNS75 is shown as being with her second family, that of John Stanley Coombe Beard of Grayshott Hall, Surrey. John Beard was an architect well known for designing over 100 cinemas in many styles, Baroque, Art Deco, Italian Renaissance, Greek Revival and even Egyptian. Interestingly in 1937 Mrs Beard made call to the police about an attempted burglary which resulted in the first arrest directly attributable to the new 999 service. A rare, possibly unique and very attractively designed car incorporating many appealing features such as stylish wings, separate steps in place of running boards, slim bumpers, external visor and louvred bonnet and scuttle with beautifully proportioned coachwork. With a polished aluminium bonnet top and waistline and P80 'bullseye' headlamps with pillar spot lamp all adds to the overall gorgeous design with the incorporation of various Art Deco touches. This 20/25 allows you to instruct your chauffeur from the privacy of the rear passenger compartment with the interior dividing screen while keeping an eye on progress with your own speedometer which is naturally mounted atop the built-in drink's cabinet. Such unusual original features are what make this Rolls-Royce special, even the delightful Sedanca de Ville coachwork is rare with its split separate steps and Art Deco flourishes. The front compartment provides accommodation for the driver and a passenger with a removable roof section for open-air motoring and wind-up windows. The driver's window also featuring a quick release lower section to allow hand signals to be easily executed. A right hand gear change allows for plenty of legroom and the large steering wheel is surmounted by a collection of hand controls. A large bulb horn lies easily to hand and the windscreen can be opened for ventilation. It is shaded by a glass visor and a spot lamp is within the driver's reach. Gauges are also a feature of the rear passenger compartment, although separated by a dividing screen, the rear passengers can keep an eye on their own speedometer as well as being supplied with a clock, barometer and a circular thermometer. The clock, and possibly the barometer, appear to be later additions. The drinks cabinet has provision for holding several decanters and a few glasses in a Lazy Susan, although the glassware itself is no longer present. The leather upholstery looks to be in lovely condition throughout, exhibiting just the right amount of patina without looking tatty. The carpets, door cards and headlining are similarly well presented as are stylish Art Deco door handles and window winders, which place this Rolls-Royce squarely in the 1930s. To the exterior, the Palladian radiator surround is topped with the Spirit of Ecstasy and the long bonnet is flanked by twin side-mount spare wheels. A pair of large Lucas tripod headlamps illuminate the road ahead and are assisted by a centrally mounted spot lamp, as well as the swivelling spot lamp near the driver. Twin horns complete the scene at the front of the car, along with a polished chrome-plated bumper. The Windovers Sedanca de Ville coachwork suits the car well and is beautifully proportioned. It features the unusual running boards, separate for front and rear passengers, as well as a useful luggage boot to the rear. Polished aluminium discs cover the wire wheels and the car runs on a full set of Paymaster tyres. Lifting the long bonnet reveals the powerful, straight-six, 3.7 litre engine. The engine features coil ignition and is fed by an Autovac fuel pump and, unusually for a car of this period, there is a glass bottle of screen wash mounted on the bulkhead, which is likely to be a later addition coupled to a small modern electric pump which has been added for ease of use. Supplied with a history file which includes historic photographs of restoration, instruction book and the original buff logbook coupled to the V5C registration document and copies of handwritten service records. The vendor informs us that the engine starts up easily every time and runs well. It is said to be a joy to drive and mechanically sound with its overhead valves, four-speed gearbox and powerful engine, this Rolls-Royce is certainly very capable and splendidly opulent. An imposing motorcar, which wears fabulously unusual coachwork and retains many original details.

1967 Airstream Overlander 26ft Transmission: manualMileage:Airstream is an American brand of caravans which are easily recognized by the distinctive shape of their rounded and polished aluminium coachwork. The company, now a division of Thor Industries, employs more than 800 people, and is the oldest in the industry. Airstreamers are a group who share a community spirit because of their common love of the trailers. In the early 1950s, Airstream company founder Wally Byam began leading groups of owners on travels to many parts of the world, where the towed trailers were quite a remarkable sight. Photos taken of the trailers in front of many famous tourist sites were common. This promoted a mystique which surrounded Airstreams that persists to this day. This well preserved 1967 26ft Overlander by Airstream International is presented here in its iconic polished aluminium found outside and within. Offering modern creature comforts after an interior restoration which kept the retro feel but introduced modern plug points and electrics, cookers/hob and lighting. The car was first registered in the UK to a Mrs. Meadows in 1938, who would retain ownership of the car right through the war years until 1957. Mrs. Meadows is believed to have travelled to Norwalk, Connecticut by Steamship in 1938 to purchase this car, so it was evidently in enthusiast ownership since its very early years. Our vendor purchased the car in 2016 and has enjoyed it ever since, reporting it is a joy to drive and the rear rumble seat is always popular with his grandchildren. The car is supplied with a current V5C registration document, older buff logbooks, period owner's manuals and brochure and a handful of invoices. 1957 Chevrolet 3100 Stepside Transmission: automaticMileage:The Chevrolet 3100 is an icon of American automotive history, embodying the spirit of post-war optimism and ingenuity. The 3100 truck, part of Chevrolet's 'Task Force' series, is revered for its timeless design and robust performance. Its distinctive chrome grille and sleek lines capture the essence of 1950s styling, while its durable construction and powerful engines made it a workhorse for farmers, tradesmen, and small businesses alike. Under the bonnet, the 3100 was most commonly fitted with the 235ci 'Thriftmaster' inline-six but a 265ci V8 was also available. Its comfortable cabin and functional bed design made it practical for both daily use and leisure activities. 1984 Rolls-Royce Silver Spirit Transmission: automaticMileage:34235The Silver Spirit was unveiled in October 1980 as a replacement for the Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow. Direct comparison, however, showed only small differences. The new models had slightly grown in length and width; height had been cut a little, although the styling was more modern than that of its predecessor. The interior was dominated by the expected combination of fine wood and sumptuous leather. The Silver Spirit was similar mechanically to the Silver Shadow, benefiting from the superb Rolls-Royce 6,750cc, V8 and sharing many mechanical characteristics of the model it replaced. The instruments were supplemented by digital units which gave such information as the time, elapsed driving time and external temperature and were the first Rolls-Royce to be fitted with a retractable Spirit of Ecstasy. This Silver Spirit has been in the care of our vendors family since 1993, in which time it has clearly been cherished as it presents in excellent order throughout. The appearance of the car was boosted even further, following a full respray in 2023, which totalled nearly £8,000. The interior is a wonderful place to be, the Magnolia leather interior is in excellent order, as is the wooden trim which adorns the dashboard and door cappings. The car has been maintained well throughout its life, with the most recent service being carried out in February 2023, the car has only covered a handful of miles since. The odometer was replaced by H.R. Owen in May 1986, by which point the car had covered 10,086 miles. That coupled with the current odometer reading, would give a total mileage of less than 45,000 miles, remarkably low for a nearly 40 year old car. This Silver Spirit is offered to auction with a V5C registration document and a history file containing invoices for various works and maintenance carried out over the years. Consignor Fraser Smith

(2)Provenance: Collection of Harry Geoffrey Beasley and thence by descent to his widow Irene Beasley. Collection of Alfred William Cowperthwaite, acquired from the above c. 1939 and thence by descent in the same family. Harry Geoffrey Beasley (1881-1939) was a British anthropologist and museum curator who developed an important ethnographic collection during the early 20th century that is now held in various British museums. With his wife Irene, Beasley set up the Cranmore Ethnographical Museum which eventually held more than 6,000 objects of ethnographical interest. The Beasleys collected objects from across Europe, buying from auction houses and local museums to expand the collection, which contained material from the Pacific, Asia, Africa, and Northwestern America. Beasley wrote numerous articles for anthropological journals and was considered an expert in his field. He died in 1939 and his collection was stored with the British Museum collections during the war, which was fortunate, as the Cranmore Museum was destroyed by bombing. After the war, substantial portions of the collection were passed to the British Museum, the Royal Museum in Edinburgh, the Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology, the University of Cambridge, the Pitt Rivers Museum, and the Merseyside County Museum. Other pieces, such as the present lot, were sold by his widow and, after her death in 1974, by their daughters. Alfred William Cowperthwaite (1890-1964) was a contributor to the Cranmore Museum and became good friends with Harry Beasley. Shortly after Harry Beasley’s death, he acquired a number of objects from Irene Beasley, including the present lot. Condition: Good condition, commensurate with age, with expected ancient wear, minuscule chips, some smoothened over time. The stone with calcifications, weathering and natural fissures, some of which have developed into small hairline cracks over time.Weight: 4 g each Dimensions: 1.7 cm and 1.6 cm During the Neolithic period, especially within Hongshan, Liangzhu, and Longshan cultures, a large number of jade ornaments were buried with the elite. Beads like the one in this lot were worn along with headgear, knee decorations, elaborate necklaces, and other body ornaments all made primarily from jade. Dr. Elizabeth Childs-Johnson dubs these cultures a part of the ‘Jade Age,’ a period during which an abundance of jade objects accompanied the elite burials for the first time. The imagery on these adornments was highly standardized, and the most prominent image, which appears on this lot, is that of the godhead (also called a spirit person, shenren, or an anthropomorphized deity).Literature comparison:Compare a related jade bead from the Liangzhu culture, 2.6 cm high, dated to the Neolithic period, in the British Museum, registration number 2022,3034.64.Auction result comparison: Type: Related Auction: Bonhams New York, 21 March 2022, lot 237 Price: USD 62,812 or approx. AN IMPORTANT AND RARE JADE ‘MASK’ PENDANT, HUANG, LIANGZHU CULTURE 良渚文化罕見神面玉璜Please note this Lot is to be sold at No Reserve. 本拍品不設底價China, circa 3300-2200 BC. Finely decorated to all sides and edges with neatly applied incision work depicting cosmic cloud scrolls, the present Huang has a prominently carved godhead mask located at the center of the front side, just beneath a zoomorphic bird head with a pointed beak at the top. Both wings are pierced with funneled apertures for suspension. The opaque stone is of a brown hue with beige clouding and dark brown inclusions.Provenance: From the Sir Percival David collection, according to an old paper label reading “The Percival Collection, of Chinese Jades” and manually inscribed “Zoomorphic Figure”. Collection of Harry Geoffrey Beasley, probably acquired from the above between 1923 and 1939, and thence by descent to his widow Irene Beasley. Collection of Alfred William Cowperthwaite, acquired from the above c. 1939 and thence by descent in the same family. Sir Percival David (1892-1964) was a Bombay-born British financier who is best known as a scholar and collector of Chinese ceramics, postal stamps, and jades. He became enamored with Chinese art after his visit to China in 1923 and started the Percival David Foundation to promote the research of Chinese art and culture. His collection grew to an astounding 1,700 pieces, which are now on display at the British Museum. He died in 1939 and his collection was stored with the British Museum collections during the war, which was fortunate as the Cranmore Museum was destroyed by bombing. Shortly after Harry Beasley’s death, he acquired a number of objects from Irene Beasley, including the present lot.Condition: Very good condition, commensurate with age. Extensive wear and weathering, as expected, with rubbing and abrasion to the fine incision work, and some nicks and chips which have smoothened over time. The stone with natural inclusions and fissures, some of which may have developed into small hairline cracks over time. Calcification throughout.Weight: 73.7 g Dimensions: Length 10.3 cm With an associated metal stand. (2)Huang were a part of the elite adornments during the Neolithic period, especially within Hongshan, Liangzhu, and Longshan cultures. These were worn along with headgear, knee decorations, elaborate beaded necklaces, and other body ornaments, all made primarily from jade. Dr. Elizabeth Childs-Johnson dubs these cultures a part of the ‘Jade Age’, a period during which an abundance of jade objects accompanied the elite burials for the first time. The imagery carved on these jade adornments was highly standardized, and the most prominent image, which appears on this lot, is that of the godhead (also called a spirit person, shenren, or an anthropomorphized deity). This image is flat, often covered in cosmic cloud scrolls, and has zoomorphic attributes combining bird and semi-human elements.Literature comparison:Compare a closely related but much smaller jade pendant with godhead incision work, 6.3 cm long, dated to the Neolithic period, Liangzhu culture, in the National Museum of Asian Art, Smithsonian Institution, accession number S1987.734. Compare also a related jade ornament with a mask godhead, 8.3 cm wide, dated to the Neolithic period, Liangzhu culture, in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, accession number 18.63.
