Model steam locomotive, spirit fired live steam 'dribbler' type, circa 1890, unmarked and probably made by the Stevens Model Dockyard Company. This is a 2-2-2 model in 3.25 inch gauge, in the style of the 19th century LNWR engines by John Ramsbottom and includes steam draw down valve and rear buffers. Length 14 inches. Boiler disclaimer- unchecked and untested; due to its age this boiler should not be steamed due to risk of explosion and the model should be used for display purposes only.

1971 Rolls Royce Silver ShadowMake: Rolls Royce Model: Silver Shadow Year: 1971Mileage: 52000VIN: SRH12005Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: XEU91KTransmission: automatic This is very far from your usual Rolls-Royce; after all, how many other Silver Shadows can say they've been raced at Brands Hatch, the Nurburgring and Classic Le Mans? Having been a Category C insurance loss in May 2005, the vehicle was acquired by Practical Performance Car magazine, who took it racing at the Nurburgring after a lot of modifications such as Bilstein shocks and lowered springs. Then, in 2008, the PPC team went even further, adding a 'big' turbocharger and external intercooler to the Rolls, so it could compete on a drag strip. This was followed, in 2010, by a 'live' roof chop at Mallory Park's PPC in the Park event. Since then, the car has been 'neglected for the past few years' according to the vendor. He also reports that it is 'solid' and 'the engine fires up on Easy Start'. However, that it has no brakes - literally - is also noted. This probably isn't the car to compete in Rolls-Royce Enthusiasts' Club concours events, but, with work, it has the potential to be a very unusual track day car, or returned to the road as a Spirit of Ecstasy machine that's very different to the norm. It's certainly one of the more intriguing Shadows around. The paperwork is a little sparse; there's the V5 plus a few 21st century MoTs, with the most recent one dating from June 2014 at 51,699 miles, and a single 2006 bill for brake parts from Rolls-Royce specialist Flying Spares. The odometer reading is 52,000 miles. PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR VIDEO PRODUCED 13TH AUGUST BY ACA OF THIS CAR.

Cowper (William, poet and letter-writer, 1731-1800).- ?Part Letter signed "A Subscriber" to William Cowper, 3pp., sm. 4to, n.p., 19th July 1791, a laudatory appreciation of Cowper's translation of Homer, "I am reading your Iliad, Sir... I am obliged to offer you my grateful thanks for... the rendering a new Homer to your country. Having these many years been accustomed to the marvellous animation of Pope's rhymes, whose fire is wonderful in his translation of the Iliad, and who seemed to be possessed by the spirit of Homer, as Garrick was by Shakespear; I was fearful an equal fire might not be found in your expected Performance. I beg your pardon for those fears. I did not recollect the Bard was like the Sun, immortal; whose power is not in the least diminished through length of time; for now I experience the influence of the Poet's rays in you", remains of red wax seal, folds, browned.⁂ Written less than a month after the publication; "Reviews were mixed." - Oxford DNB.
