A 1920s honey oak cased canteen of silver plated flatware for 12 persons: by Atkins Brothers, Old English pattern, the three fitted drawers holding 12 table forks, 12 dessert forks, 12 dessert spoons, 6 soup spoons, 6 table spoons, 11 tea spoons (one missing), 6 egg spoons, 4 salt spoons, a sugar spoon, a mustard spoon, a pair of sauce ladles, a pair of sugar tongs, a pair of basting spoons and a soup ladle, plus the original 7 piece steel carving set; and a matched part set of 10 dessert and 3 table knives with ivorine handles, all in a three drawer oak canteen with rebated gilt brass handles and two keys, the canteen The flatware in good condition, with no wear to the plating and just expected light scratching from use. Lacks one tea spoon and the mustard spoon. The 'bone' handled knives are a matched, harlequin part-set. The baize lining is in good order. Some scratches and tarnishing to brass fittings throughout, with heavier tarnishing to the carrying handles, The oak canteen is good overall, with no engraving to the brass shield plate to the lid. Lock works well. Some marks, dings and surface dirt to the oak, with small chips and knocks around the plinth. One long scratch to the back. No splits.
