Silver flatware table service for 12 persons, Old English pattern, Sheffield 1921, to include 12 table forks, 12 dessert forks, 12 soup spoons, 12 tablespoons, 12 dessert spoons, pair sauce ladles, six egg spoons, soup ladle, 12 table knives, 12 dessert knives, total weight 144ozt approx., in brass mounted oak table top canteen having two drawers, inscribed 'Oswin & Co Limited', 47cm wide Condition Report Overall in good order. The service has been used so there is some typical wear, scratching and tarnishing. Majority of the flatware marked with Sheffield, date letter d, maker's mark CB&S, other than 1 soup ladle and 5 soup spoons which are marked with date letter C (other marks are the same). One of the smaller knives is probably replaced and the handle has deteriorated (looks like it has been put through the dishwasher), the blade is marked for Harrison Brothers 'rustless', and the remainder are marked for T. Ward. One dinner knife blade is marked for Evans & Matthews, Brimingham and may also be a replacement. There are a number of accessories including a silver plated butter knife, an EPNS sugar tong etc which may be replacements. One empty compartment in lower drawer, probably lacking an implement. There are 113 items in total. The canteen is in good order, some very minor scratching, some wear to baize. There are two keys and the lock is functioning. Measurements are 47cm x 33.5cm.
