A steel ladle with a shallow bowl and a row of copper inset studs to the flattened handle with pierced hanging hole and acorn finial, 27½ ins (70 cms) in length.

A WOODLAND CARIBOU (Rangifer tarandus caribou) Rowland Clement Goodyear 1910, head mount, thirty points, 37 1/4" right antler, 43" left antler, 45" high, distance from wall 41", on hardwood shield with applied ivorine plaque inscribed "Caribou, shot Red Indian Lake, Newfoundland 1910 by Rowland Goodyear (Illustrated). Provenance: Rowland Clement Goodyear was born in 1882 at Ladle Cove, Newfoundland, the eldest of seven children. In 1900 at eighteen he began working in the lumber business and by 1910 was in business on his own account diversifying into freight handling and later general contracting. The company still exists with his grandson as president.
