AN EXTENSIVE SPODE BLUE AND WHITE DINNER SERVICE IN THE "GREEK PATTERN", c. 1820, comprising: twenty-four dinner plates, fourteen luncheon or dessert plates, six shallow bowls, nine serving dishes of various sizes, a lattice rim plate or stand, a dish cover, a soup tureen and cover, smaller tureen (lacking cover) and ten dessert bowls; together with a Wedgwood saucer, total approximately sixty-five pieces. Tureen across handles 35cmOverall good condition commensurate with age. Few of the twenty four dinner plates have minor blemishes / small losses to rims but non appear to be cracked. One dessert plate has a chip to rim, shallow bowls are good, as are the ten bowls. The large tureen lid is cracked and stapled, the base has a large crack to it, one of the serving dishes fits nicely under the tureen as a stand.The square tureen lid has no base, the small sauce boat has no cover, the sauce ladle has broken and is in bits.

An incredibly interesting and rare piece of WWII Second World War history - a silver ladle from the home of Nazi Germany's Foreign Minister Joachim von Ribbentrop. The ladle being silver, with an eagle and swastika emblem to handle and makers marks for Krupp Berndorf to rear and ' Westerland - 1939 '. The ladle was liberated from Von Ribbentrop's home by a Major Holloway of the Intelligence Corps, who was part of the 26th FS Section with the 59th Infantry Division who captured him in 1945. Major Holloways' 1943 dated beret (with cap badge), uniform ' Intelligence Corps ' cloth title are also included, as well as some photographs from his collection.
