A c.1740 English provincial silver ladle with plain circular bowl and knopped tapering stem with turned wooden handle, maker's initials "PB", possibly Chester area, also hallmarked "sta" (?), length 34cm, approx 3.7ozt. CONDITION REPORT: General condition is good but the bowl is slightly misshapen to the rim. Also has numerous areas of tiny dents and scratches and a few bigger areas of dents around the lower edge.
A quantity of Booths dinnerware in "Orchard" pattern decorated with fruit comprising eight dinner plates, ten dessert plates, eleven side plates, ten shallow bowls, two small bowls with saucers, two serving dishes with lids (one lid af), one with a saucer, two sauce boats, and a ladle (af). CONDITION REPORT: Generally surface dirt, wear to the pattern and the gilt highlighting commensurate with use, tureen lid broken into three pieces, ladle broken into two pieces (pieces present), sauce boats both have hairlines, one is stained, side plates have crazing to glaze, one has repaired break, one dinner plate has a chip to the rim, others have stained crazing to glaze, three dessert plates have chips to rims, one shallow bowl has a mended break.
A quantity of metalware and kitchenalia including a brass jam pan, wooden butter pat, copper pans, copper jelly mould, ladle, pestle and mortar, flat irons, hand held shears, butter mould, etc. CONDITION REPORT: This lot is too large for us to post. We would suggest an external packer and carrier.
A George III hallmarked silver toddy ladle with oval single lipped bead decorated bowl, 32.5cm, and a further similar plain example engraved "R Morgan Angel Inn" to the base, both with wrythen baleen handles, possibly Thomas Morley, London c.1780 (2). CONDITION REPORT: Bead decorated ladle is in general good condition with just some minor surface scratches and dents commensurate with age. Lip is slightly misshapen. Area where stem meets bowl appears to have been professionally resoldered. The other bowl is also in similar good condition, also appears to have a repair to the central section of the silver part of the stem. Also has some areas of tarnish.
A set of six Victorian hallmarked silver fiddle pattern teaspoons, Charles Lias, London 1849, a similar silver set, Thomas Hart Stone, Exeter 1870, a George IV fiddle pattern condiment ladle, Jonathan Hayne, London 1823, a similar mustard spoon, Jonathan Hayne, London 1835, and a silver fiddle pattern teaspoon, Thomas Smily, London 1872, all with monogrammed finials, combined weighable silver approx 9.67ozt, plus an Oriental white metal spoon with fruit decoration to the bowl and a figure with an ox to the finial (16).
A George II hallmarked silver toddy ladle with plain oval bowl and turned ebonised wooden handle, possibly Robert Lucas, London 1728, length 34.5cm, and a further example with overall floral and foliate embossed bowl centred with a vacant cartouche, with tapering stem and plain baleen handle, London 1773, maker's mark rubbed, length 35.5cm (2). CONDITION REPORT: Baleen handled ladle is slightly misshapen but generally in good condition. The handle needs reattaching to the silver stem section. The plain ladle is in good condition with some minor scratches and tiny dents commensurate with age.
An early 20th century mahogany electroplated twelve setting cutlery comprising table forks, dessert forks, teaspoons, ivorine handled dessert knives and table knives, carvers, soup spoons, dessert spoons (one missing), tablespoons, a pair of ladles, a large soup ladle, H Pearce & Sons, Huddersfield and an assorted set of six Hanoverian pattern soup spoons.
A quantity of Wedgwood dinnerware in a blue and white diamond pattern with gilt rim comprising ten dinner plates, twelve dessert plates, twelve side plates, two lidded serving dishes, two small tureens with saucers, two sauce boats, ladle, and six oval platters of various sizes. CONDITION REPORT: Surface dirt, rubbing commensurate with age, crazing to glaze, chips to four plates, ladle broken but mended, chip to serving dish handle.
A Georgian white metal toddy ladle of plain oval form with flared rim and tapering stem with turned wooden handle, set with Spanish silver 1 real coin depicting Charles III of Spain, dated 1774, initialled "JDS" to front, length 28cm (handle af), and a further white metal example with baleen wrythen handle, unmarked, length 33.5cm (2). CONDITION REPORT: The ladle set with Spanish coin - handle has been broken and reglued. Overall in good condition, with some minor traces of age and usage such as mild scratches and tiny dents. Bowl of other ladle in similar good condition.
