A Danish Silver-Mounted Punch-Ladle, Possibly by Carl Christian Hansen, Aarhus, First Half 19th Century, the base of the oval bowl fluted and chased with a shell, the bifurcated handle with a flower and foliage, prick engraved with initials and dated '1841', with ebonised turned-wood handle, 40cm longProvenance: Dutton Manor, Lancashire Marked with town mark on side of bowl and with maker's mark on handle. The marks are clear. There has been a repair below where the handle meets the bowl and there is some unevenness to the surface in this area. There is some oveall surface scratching and wear, consistent with age and use. There is some loss to the finish on the handle.
