Hallmarked silver canteen of Old English pattern cutlery comprising two basting spoons, six table spoons, four dessert spoons, twelve dinner forks, six dessert forks, fish servers, two sauce ladles and four teaspoons, all Chester 1906, maker Walker & Hall, soup ladle Sheffield 1907, maker Walker & Hall and six soup spoons, London 1919, maker Holland, Aldwinckle & Slater, length of longest piece 32cm, weight of all items 3194g
A large 19th century blue and white transfer printed jug, with chinoiserie and foliate pattern. Height 21.5 cm, width 24 cm, together with a small willow patterned lidded tureen with ladle and a Spode lidded tureen. CONDITION REPORT: The large jug does not have any repairs or restoration. It has two small chips to the sparrow beak and other very minor edge nibbles. There is some evidence of brown staining around the base of the handle and the bottom clear band. The underside edge of the piece is also crazed and stained. There is an under edge foot rim chip. The interior is generally crazed and brown in colour. The lidded tureen base has a top edge chip to one proud section of the handle edge moulding. There are minor surface scratches to the interior and glaze rubbing around the edge and to the undersides of the feet. The lid appears to be in structurally good condition but is dull when tapped. It is discoloured to the underside but we cannot see any cracks. There is a hairline crack to the lid of the willow patterned tureen. The base is browned and crazed. There is a small hairline crack to the top lip. Some areas of glaze have been rubbed. The gilding to the non-matching ladle is rubbed.
A pair of early George III silver sugar tongs of Rococo design, with scalloped shaped bowls and pierced sides by IB & IB. 13.5 cm long, weight 10 grams (London assay mark and makers mark but no date letter or lion passant). A white metal sauce ladle with twisted whale bone handle and a pair of silver mounted mother of pearl teaspoons.
A pair of Victorian silver sauce ladles 1863, maker George Edward & Sons. Length 19 cm, together with another Victorian sauce ladle, Sheffield 1869, 187 grams. CONDITION REPORT: The two matching ladles weigh 68.5 grams and 67 grams respectively. The third ladle weighs 52 grams. The pair of ladles are in good structural order with no buckling or significant damage. There are some scratches to the underside edge of both bowls and one has a tiny ding. The hallmarks to both are fully legible and only showing slight wear. The third ladle is in good condition with no issues.
