A late Victorian canteen of silver Hanovarian rat tail pattern flatware by Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Co, comprising seventy seven items, London, 1898, 132oz, together with twelve later silver pistol handled table knives and twelve dessert knives, W.V. Sheffield, 1891/82, with velvet pouches.CONDITION: 12 each of the following: tablespoons, dessert spoons, table forks, dessert forks and teaspoons. 6 coffee spoons, a soup ladle, pair of sugar tongs, sifter ladle, pair of sauce ladles, butter knife, 4 salt spoons and a mustard spoon.All in good condition commensurate with age and some mild use. Hallmarks clear.

A George III neo-classical silver cream jug, by Peter, Ann & William Bateman, assayed London 1799, together with another George III silver cream jug, marks rubbed, (two splits to rim near handle), a Scottish George III old English pattern silver sauce ladle, assayed Edinburgh, date letter lacking, maker possibly Alexander Zeigler, a similar sauce ladle with pseudo marks, and three other spoons. An early 20thC silver plated dish, of shell shaped form, bright cut and repousse decorated with scrolls, initial to the handle, on shaped shell feet, 28cm wide, two open salts on triple hoof supports, a base metal figure of a camel with crystal centre and a very early 20thC ladle with turned ivory handle and pierced bowl (a quantity).

Maker's mark for William Bateman & Daniel Ball, active for three years 1839-1842. Silver weight 10 ozs - 12 grams. Looks in never used condition. Length 13.5" - 34 cm long.
