A red stained wood Prince of Wales Investiture Chair, designed by Lord Snowdon, 1969, the back with gilt Prince of Wales crest and red wool foam padded seat, The investiture of The Prince of Wales, during which the 20-year-old Prince received the insignia as the 21st Prince of Wales from The Queen, took place on 1st July 1969, at Caernarfon Castle in front of four thousand guests inside the medieval walls. The Queen created her eldest son Prince of Wales when he was nine years old and later let it be known that the Investiture would be held when The Prince was old enough to understand fully its significance. Lot 419

Household Cavalry State Trumpeter’s Ceremonial trumpet banner. A scarce Elizabeth II example. Ground of crimson damask silk with gold and silver embroidery depicting the Royal Arms to centre flanked by two winged angels and the whole encircled by floral inlaid bullion, the Crown flanked by ‘E’ and ‘R’. To each corner is a bullion Union device incorporating the Rose of England, the Thistle of Scotland the Shamrock of Ireland. The banner is edged with fine gold twisted thread fringe. The bullion and coloured silks remain bright and fresh, some green oxidisation to the d ring fittings, some twist tassels with faint green tinge, not effecting the overall appearance.

This decorated with a crowned VR cypher with large gold initials below ‘E.R.C.’. Ring turned grip, the base stamped with the maker’s details of Parker 233 Holborn’. Decoration remains bright, near VGC.

Edwardian Chester Hallmarked Gold Miniature Navy Bosun’s Call Whistle. An extremely rare and fine quality miniature working gold Bosuns call, possibly made for a Page Boy of a Naval Wedding. The miniature is an exact copy of the full size, with anchors to the ball and engraving to the stem. Clear 9ct Gold Hallmarks for Chester 1904 and maker’s details of ‘R.J.’ (Possibly Robert William Jay Gold Smith Chester). The whistle is complete with original cord ring. Near VGC. Length 1 3/4 inches.
