Lot 193

An Austro-Hungarian silver gilt and gem set locket on a gold chain, the oval hinged locket with foiled garnets and cabochon turquoise, between raised enamel flower heads, to enamel swags and a textured ground. Glazed and hinged back cover with a turquoise and enamel set scroll top and flower head bale. A gilt metal chased split ring to a baby belcher gold chain with a wire hook clasp. The chain tested as approximately 18ct gold CONDITION REPORT: Dimensions of the oval section of the locket 33 x 27mm. Length including the flower head bale 52mm. The engraved split ring is not part of the locket, and can be removed. The chain will run through the bale as intended. Chain 700mm long. Matrix visible in some of the turquoise cabochons. Some wear and losses to the enamel. Wear to the gilding.

Bartlett, Waltham Mass.', no. 17039356, case no. 384361, Birmingham 1851. Suspended from a gold moiré band garter fob with a 9ct gold paste swivel seal to the other end. Buckle and fittings tested as approximately 9ct gold

An 18ct gold half hunter pocket watch, the half hunter pocket watch, 51mm diameter, with blue enamel Roman numeral chapter ring to the front cover, white enamel dial with subsidiary seconds dial, black Roman numerals, blued double spade hands, with a flat bevelled edge crystal, gold cuvette, case no. 842, movement no. 401586, Birmingham 1924, and an 18ct gold curb link Albert chain with spade guinea fob, with 'T' bar and two swivel clips, the spade guinea dated 1798, with a hard soldered scroll top mount (2) CONDITION REPORT: Winds and ticking, although the crown does not pull out to adjust the hands (we do not want to force it).

An Anglo-Indian three stone diamond ring, c.1900, a flat section tapering band, star set with a cushion shaped old European cut diamond at the centre and an old European cut diamond at each side. Tested as approximately 22ct gold. Box by Max Minck & Co. Ltd., Lahore & Simla. Reputedly purchased from Max Minck & Co. by the vendor's grandfather CONDITION REPORT: Finger size N (not quite round).

A gold and enamel Swiss half hunter fob watch, the case 38mm diameter with a pink guilloché enamel chapter ring to the front cover, with blue enamel Roman numerals to an engraved foliate case. A white enamel dial with black Roman numerals and gold Louis XV style gold hands, with a rose cut diamond set to the hour hand. Case no. 94945. Swiss case marks for 14ct gold. Marked 14K

A circular gold hinged locket, with a hammered finish to the front cover, tested as approximately 18ct gold CONDITION REPORT: 19mm diameter. 29mm in length, including jump ring/bale. Good colour and finish. Light surface wear to the reverse.

Lot 247

An Edwardian turquoise matrix and seed pearl bracelet, c.1910, a series of graduated oval turquoise matrix cabochons, each one rub set in a plain collet, all joined by pairs of seed pearls on gold wire links. Tested as approximately 9ct gold CONDITION REPORT: Modern replacement bolt ring clasp, in working order. 188mm in length. Links appear in good order, slightly dirty under the pearls. No obvious damage.

Lot 271

An Art Deco sapphire and diamond cluster ring with diamond set shoulders, an oval mixed cut sapphire milligrain set to a frame of old eight cut diamonds, to a shallow gallery with an old Swiss cut diamond milligrain set to each shoulder. Finger size possibly N-O, support beads fitted CONDITION REPORT: Two diamonds are possible replacements, and one of those has dropped in the setting and is possibly slightly too small. Under 10x magnification there are visible bruises to crown facet edges but no surface reaching inclusions. The shank appears original to the ring and tests as platinum, with sizing join. RESTORATION. The setting edge or setting plate has probably been replaced, tests as platinum. The under bezel has been replaced and tests as white gold. (The ring would have been Art Deco but as the head has probably been replaced in two restoration phases, perhaps 'restored Art Deco' would be more accurate).

A gold graduated five stone diamond ring, five graduated old European cut diamonds, with an estimated total diamond weight of approximately 1.60ct, claw set to white rex collets, with knife edge yellow shoulders and shank. Marked 18ct. Finger size O CONDITION REPORT: 0.65ct estimated centre stone. Claws a little thin, will require re-tipping in the near future. Ring requires cleaning. Diamonds in the colour range H/I/J. Clarity VS2/SI1. One of the smaller diamonds at one shoulder SI2/P1. Diamonds bright and lively.

A flat gold bezel, hand engraved to read 'Night And Day You Are The One' to a pierced molten effect collet, shoulders and shank, London 1979. Interior support shank later fitted. Finger size approximately K Believed to have been commissioned from John Donald by the vendor's mother. CONDITION REPORT: The planet is secure and spins freely. The bezel is 16.9mm diameter. Dirty, surface marks to the gold. Tarnish to the shoulders and shank. The spring support inside the shank is a later addition; without it, the ring is approximately size S.

A matching ring composed of a single large natural topaz crystal, to a matching surround with a claw set brilliant cut diamond and bark textured shank, unmarked. Finger size M (2) CONDITION REPORT: Brooch - no damage; crisp condition; 57mm x 40mm approximately. Ring - no damage; crisp condition; ring head 25mm x 22mm approximately.

Hallmark: Birmingham, no date letter. No surface reaching inclusions to the table, a couple to the star and kyte facets. Inclusions affecting the brilliance but not cloudy.
