Hairline cracks or porosity to the underside of the setting to one of the diamonds. This is close to the gold solder area on the inside of the shoulder.

A cultured pearl necklace, by Mikimoto,with an articulated 'V' shaped centrepiece. Scattered graduated cultured pearls, peg set between diamond set leaves, to a faceted trace chain. Tested as approximately 14ct gold. A case by K. Mikimoto Inc. Ginza, Tokyo. Marker's mark. Centrepiece 82 x 15mm, 10.26gCondition report: Maker's mark on the bolt ring. Largest cultured pearl 8.70mm. No damage or obvious faults.Chain - 355mm long in total, although it would be possible to add a section of chain at the back to lengthen if necessary.

Lot 123

A pair of gold lorgnettes, by Hamlin Ltd., c.1910,suspended on a later gold Prince-of-Wales chain. The sprung lorgnettes with a telescopic handle, engine turned with dot and pinstripe decoration. The lorgnettes bridge hand engraved Hamlin Ltd, 15 Wigmore Street, W1. Marked 15CT. The chain tested as approximately 9ct gold. Lorgnettes 90 x 39mm, 24.07g, chain 788mm long, 14.71gCondition report: Wear to the loop handle.Scratches and marks consistent with its age. A ladies' 18ct gold L.V. Chopard mechanical bracelet watch, by Kutchinsky, c.1968,with an ivory coloured oval dial, with black Roman numerals and hands, a plain raised bezel, with oval ring style lugs. An integral oval hoop link bracelet with a concealed clasp, import hallmark London 1968. Case no. 71015. Movement signed L.V. Chopard and CIE Geneve. A Kutchinsky style box but unsigned. 175mm long, 22mm case, 65.01gCondition report: Light surface marks commensurate with its age. Scratches to the case back.Winds and ticking but no guarantee as to time keeping or continued running. The last link has been lengthened in the past, but it is a neat job.

An emerald and diamond three stone ring,with an emerald cut emerald, double claw set to a plain yellow collet with pierced hoop detail. A brilliant cut diamond, claw set in yellow rex collet at each side, to open shoulders with incised decoration and a plain shank. Tested as approximately 18ct gold. Emerald estimated as approximately 6.50ct. A case by William Lund & Son, 54 Old Bond Street, EC2. 7.10g.Finger size M½-NCondition report: Marks to the facet edges under 10x magnification. One surface reaching inclusion.Very small chip under x1 claw.Shank and head at a strange angle, not 45 degrees, head tilted.Minor marks to the mount, one claw tip of the diamond is a bit small.There is no report with this ring, so we cannot state treatment.

Roman set in a landscape position to wide 'D' section shoulders and tapered shanked, with a bloomed ground. The engraved intaglio is possibly a reference to a bountiful harvest or fertility. Advise that a setter checks this prior to being worn.No chips, but natural surface reaching inclusions.

A white gold diamond and sapphire circular stepped cluster ring,with an old European cut diamond, double claw set to a scalloped collet, surrounded by a row of baguette cut diamonds, end set with a second tier of circular faceted sapphires, all grain set. A pierced basket to chenier shoulders and a plain shank. Marked 18ct. Head 15.70mm diameter, 7.41g.Finger size O-O½Condition report: Scratches and marks consistent with its age. A little dirty.Diamonds bright and lively.

Lot 273

A sapphire and diamond crossover ring, with a brilliant cut diamond, estimated as approximately 0.55ct, and a round mixed cut sapphire, claw set to rex collets, to crossover shoulders and a 'D' section shank. A Georgian diamond cluster ring,with later shoulders and shank, for restoration. The cushion cut diamond with a known weight of 1.49ct, set to a border of cushion shaped Swiss cut diamonds, two deficient. All set in silver in an off set position and backed in gold. Victorian scrolled shoulders to a later plain shank. Head 13.90 x 13.80mm, 4.43g.Diamond assessed as approximately:Colour tintedClarity SI1/SI2Finger size L approximatelyCondition report: Tested as approximately 18ct, 9ct, 14ct and silver.Centre stone loose.Border diamonds: three deficient, one loose.Setting worn.Soft solder present.Underside of head slightly flat.Difference in colour - shank, shoulders and head. Indented naturals and nibbles to the girdle.

An 18ct gold curb link double Albert chain, with ‘T’-bar and swivel clasp and later metal jump rings. Birmingham. 430mm long, 34.86gCondition report: Each curb link is individually hallmarked.Slight wear between links.The jump ring at the centre of the chain is a later replacement, hallmarked 9ct gold.The two jump rings at either end of the chain are later replacements, gilt metal.

Lot 427

A gold single stone pink sapphire and diamond crossover ring, with an oval mixed cut pink sapphire believed to weigh 2.39ct, four claw set with crossover winged shoulders grain set with brilliant cut diamonds, to two row shank. Tested as approximately 9ct gold. Head 8.6mm wide, 4.00g.Finger size TAn insurance valuation from Pravins dated 26 November 2002 available to view, relating to the unmounted sapphireCondition report: Some wear and porosity to mount.Collet distorted.Bezel and under bezel both cracked.Claws not touching the gemstone in places.This ring has had a substantial knock at some point.DO NOT WEAR, REQUIRES ATTENTION.

Lot 389

A gold lapis lazuli ring, attributed to Clare Murray,with a cabochon lapis lazuli cage set to a pierced gold collet. With a boat, water and fish to the top, and fish to the underside, with a flat section 'U' shaped shank with a stamped fish to the inside. Tested as approximately 18ct gold. 7.89gProvenance: The Peter and Pat Crofts CollectionCondition report: Due to the 'U' shaped nature of the shank it is not possible to measure the finger size on a wheatsheaf stick.Minor surface marks/scratches to mount.Solder joins visible around the pierced plaque to the underside of the head.The head of the ring is flat on the underside, so does not sit correctly on a ring stick. We estimate the size to be V approximately. This could be sized down.

Lot 107

A late Victorian emerald and diamond cluster ring,with a square emerald cut emerald, claw set to the centre. A border of cushion shaped old Swiss cut diamonds, claw set to a scalloped gallery, with a further diamond at each shoulder, with chased shoulders and a plain shank. Tested as approximately 18ct gold. Head 11.00mm wide, 4.60g.Finger size S-S½Provenance: The Peter and Pat Crofts CollectionCondition report: Abrasion and marks to the crown facet edges.A scratch to the table.Wear to the claws. This should be remedied prior to the ring being worn.The ring has been sized up at least twice and there are obvious sizing joins.The back of the shank is slightly thinner.We have stated the provenance in the catalogue.  As this is from a deceased estate, it is not possible to get anything else in writing.

A Georgian ruby, emerald and diamond painted miniature giardinetti ring,the oval painted portrait of a lady with a blue bonnet and pink shawl, to an incised gold frame. An enamelled basket above, with sprays and garlands of flowers and leaves, grain set with foiled emeralds, rubies and rose cut diamonds, with a smaller spray below. A closed back setting with tapered reeded shoulders and back. Tested as approximately 18ct gold.
