Slightly curved single fuller blade, nickel plated and etched on right side “PRESENTED/TO SERGT. CHARLES/T. CAHILL/5TH SECTION/INFANTRY” in a panel on a gold background surrounded by military motifs and at top, the other side etched “ANCIENT/AND HONORABLE/ARTILLERY/CO.” with scrolls, military motifs and marked at top “E.O./BERTEL/BOSTON/MASS.” Nickel-plated guard with relief cast Acanthus leaves on each branch and relief sun bursts and stars on both sides of guard with Bakelite grip; pommel with relief wreaths. Nickel plated scabbard large relief eagle between ring mounts and relief engraved drag. Excellent condition, blade with a few light marks from scabbard and some light rust specks, gold wash on etching partially worn off, hilt shows light oxidation and grip has tuned brown. These are the most ornate factory Hi-Powers ever made. Import of this model ended in 1979. This is the ring hammer model with fixed sights. Engraving is nearly full coverage with a scroll pattern. Pistol appears to be in near new condition inside and out. Comes in the Browning pouch with instruction booklet and serial number written on tag. This beautiful set comes with a mint in box rifle as well as an exquisite leather hard carry case which is lined in brown felt and the Winchester John Wayne logo in leather inside of lid. The rifle is housed in a John Wayne 100th anniversary decorative sleeve. The rifle itself is built on the Model 1892 action and features the large lever loop made famous by The Duke in his many motion pictures. Rifle features an 18-1/2" round barrel, full magazine, deluxe checkered walnut stock, carbine buttplate, and is chambered for the .44-40 Winchester cartridge. Special embellishments: John Wayne coin on right side of stock; receiver and lever are engraved; right side of frame has gold overlays of "The Duke, J.W., John Wayne Centennial, Courage, Strength, Grit."; left side of frame has, in gold, two images of The Duke and "John Wayne American 1907 - 2007". Rifle also has the traditional saddle ring on left side. The rear sight is the old school folding ladder carbine sight with the post front. Blade is also gold plated. John Wayne's signature appears in gold on top of the barrel. Gun is brand new in the original box with all paperwork. This is a stunning tribute rifle. A must have for any John Wayne fan.
