Lot 14

A mid-Victorian hardstone cameo ring, the oval cameo carved to depict a classical male portrait profile, 18ct gold mounted, hallmarked for Birmingham 1863, maker's mark E.D.W, ring size approximately LOne end of the setting has worn flat, probably caused by friction against another ring. The cameo has scuffs and nicks, with some rubbing to the carved detail, and measures approx. 1.45cm length x 1cm width. The mount has scuffs, scratches, nicks and chips throughout, with patchy thining to the edges of the setting and small areas of porosity to the shank interior. Hallmarks are legible. Gross weight approx. 5.1gm.

A diamond full hoop ring, set throughout with round brilliant-cut diamonds, 18ct white gold mounted, total diamond weight approximately 1.35ct, ring size W½Diamonds are well matched, bright and lively, with estimated VS1 to SI1 clarity and H to J colour, assessed mounted. Each diamond weighs approx. 0.06ct. The mount has surface wear, scuffs and nicks, commensurate for use. Solder joins are present to the mount, possibly part of manufacture. Width of band 4mm. Hallmarks are for Birmingham 2005, marker's mark is heavily worn. Gross weight approx. 5gm.

A diamond seven stone ring, designed as a stepped half hoop of graduated baguette-cut diamonds, 18ct white gold mounted, total diamond weight approximately 1ct, ring size L½Diamonds have a fairly bright appearance but some of the diamonds have chips, surface-reaching fractures and dark mineral inclusions that are visible to the unaided eye, with estimated SI2 to P2 clarity and H to J colour, assessed mounted. Some of the diamonds are slightly loose and may require re-setting. Diamonds graduate from approximately 5mm length x 2.8mm width to 3.2mm length x 2mm width, the largest diamond weighing approx. 0.20ct to 0.25ct. The mount has general surface wear, scuffs and nicks, with patchy wear to the rhodium plated finish giving a yellowish hue to the back of the shank. Setting measures approx. 1.65cm length x 0.68cm width. Hallmarked for London 2011, maker's mark 'PP', light wear to marks. Gross weight approx. 5.3gm.

One of the tips to the grain setting appears to be missing and the others have some wear. The mount has scuffs, scratches and chips/nicks commensurate for age and use, with areas of porosity/pitting. The shank has been re-sized. Hallmarks are fairly clear with patchy light wear. Width of band graduates from approx. 5.8mm to 6.5mm, shank is slightly off-round. Gross weight approx. 4.7gm.
