dating: first quarter of the 18th Century provenance: Pistoia, Smoothbore, two-stage, 12.5 mm cal. barrel, octagonal at the first part with gold-inlaid marking, then round after two smooth rings and a beaded ring, with engraved nozzle; finely engraved tang; flintlock signed 'IL PACINI PISTOIA' around the pan, beautifully carved and engraved, the lock plate decorated with a traveller resting on a rock in front of a tree, the tang with a mask, the cock with a bearded face and with a bust on the back, when the hammer is cocked an engraved female figure appears underneath, the shaft of the batterie is carved with a bust of a half-naked woman in the round, sliding pan cover decorated with a mask. Full stock made of slightly carved dark wood (some cracks). Mounts made of carved and partially pierced steel, the counterplate depicting a small face among leaves, trigger guard with a lion's head in high relief, this motif recurs on the butt-plate and is set and framed by floral motifs. dating: 1845 provenance: Spain, Smoothbore, two-stage, 17 mm cal. barrels made of fine damask; octagonal and marked in gold among floral decorations 'à Espiral por Arana en Eibar 1845' at the first part, the base carved with engraved curls on a gilded ground, a band carved with floral motifs on a gilded ground featuring a frame featuring notched rings, then round at the second part, with gold monogram 'L. F.A.' enclosed in a cartouche, moulded nozzle decorated with the same frame. Long tangs decorated en suite and with broad sight. Backward spring locks finely engraved with leaves on gilt ground, cocks carved and pierced as a lion resting on a small dragon. Briarwood, three-quarter stocks with floral and geometrically carved butts, steel mounts decorated with the same beautiful motifs; browned triggers, butt-plates with suspension ring. dating: circa 1600 provenance: North Italy, Elegant, thin, double-edged blade with central raiser dividing two finely pierced groves at the forte. Ricasso with mark on both sides. Iron hilt with three ring-guards, straight quillons and triple loop-guard, all loop guards. Pointed and ribbed quillon block. Well-proportioned and faceted pommel. Hilt with fine floral decorations and dots in gold, gold and silver pommel (missing parts). Wooden grip covered with wire binding and provided with iron wire Moor's heads. See a very similar sword with similar decorations and without pierced blade in 'Armi Bianche Italiane' by Boccia/Coelho, Bramante, Milan 1975, no. 562. length 124.5 cm.
dating: about 1855 provenance: Naples, Round, rifled, 10 mm cal. barrel with rib marked at the base with gold inscription 'C.C. N 22' and provided with silver foresight. Smooth, five-shot, steel cylinder with engraved gold-inlaid signature 'F. DE LUCA'. Frame and trigger guard richly engraved with floral motifs, briarwood butt with silver butt-plate decorated with a cross, silver shield on the back; loading lever under the barrel, suspension ring.
