A Yoruba bangle Nigeria brass cast with figure and attached bells, 8.5cm diameter, a Dogon brass sun pendant, an aluminium Ox head ring, another brass with a bird, a gold plated ring with an inset diamond and chased tigers attacking antelopes, a lapis lazuli set ring, a turquoise set ring, another with a band of foliage, another incised a water gatherer and two ribbed silver coloured metal rings. A late Bronze Age gold ring circa 1200 - 600BC the interior and exterior with five encirling ribs, 2cm diameter, 7 grams. Provenance Found on farmland near Ripon, Yorkshire, July 1997. Christie's, Fine Antiquities, South Kensington, 25 April 2001, lot 303. The ring is composed of approximately 86 gold with smaller proportions of silver and copper. It has been suggested that these types of rings were used as a form of currency.
