GOLD VESTA. An Edwardian 9ct. gold vesta case. Birmingham 1902. 14.2g. CONDITION REPORTS: This gold vesta measures 4.25 x 3cm. The spring lid is no longer functioning, so that the lid does not fit tightly. There is a small 1cm split in the side seam (opposite the suspension ring) and likewise a smaller split, 1/2cm, on the base, near the striking groove.
COSTUME JEWELLERY. Dress jewellery including two 9ct. gold rings, 9ct. gold ear studs, silver filigree & marcasite. CONDITION REPORTS: 1. The marcasite set band has three stones missing. 2. The ring with the blue central stone has four small clear paste stones missing. 3. The black enamelled ring has one clear paste stone missing. The remaining jewellery is intact.
CHILD'S RINGS ETC. Two late 19th century child's rings & a small seal fob with bird-carved matrix. CONDITION REPORTS: 1. The garnet set ring is stamped indistinctly to the outside of the shank and we therefore presume it to be gold. The ring is in good, original condition. 2. The turquoise-set ring has a small French mark to the outside shank, so is also good. This too is in good, original condition. 3. The tiny intaglio fob does not appear to be stamped, and does have areas of rubbing, so we would presume this is gold coated. It is also in good, original condition.
GOLD RING. A Victorian 18ct. gold ruby & diamond set ring. Size P/Q. CONDITION REPORTS: The ring is stamped 18ct. but is not further hallmarked. The stones are intact, but one ruby has a worn setting, although it is not loose. The ring is generally in good, original condition, but the shank is now wearing a little thin.
BAR BROOCHES. Two gold bar brooches & an 18ct. gold, five stone diamond ring. CONDITION REPORTS: The 18ct. gold ring is in good condition, with all stones intact. The shank is a little thin. The pearl bar brooch is in good condition, with both pearl and diamonds in good order. The surface of the platinum has some scratching commensurate with age/use. The other bar brooch is also in good, undamaged condition.
WATCH CHAIN. A French gold watch chain with amethyst set elements, including an amethyst set seal fob. Chain & fob stamped. Later converted as a necklace. 20g. CONDITION REPORTS: The bolt ring has stamped French hallmarks. The catch which the bolt ring is attached to is stamped with French hallmarks. The triple ring, to which the chains and the fobs are attached is also stamped. We therefore assume that the chain is gold. Please note that one fob is a seal; the other was probably a watch key but the hollow winding tube is now missing.
SIGNET RINGS. Two French gold signet rings, one stamped. 18g. CONDITION REPORTS: Both rings are in good condition, the seal faces still crisp. One ring has an eagles head stamp and the device A †P within a lozenge. The other ring is unstamped, but I suspect has been re-sized. They both bear the appearance of being 18k. One ring is size L/M and the other ring is size M. The larger ring has some wear at the bottom of the shank and there are a couple of fine stress fractures to the inside of the ring.
DIAMOND RING. An 18ct. gold & platinum diamond set ring. Size O. CONDITION REPORTS: This diamond ring is in generally good, pre-owned condition. There are no missing stones and the setting and shank are sound. The diamonds are not very deep in the setting. There is a central row of 5 graduated diamonds, surrounded by 15 others. All are old, antique cut. The total weight is possible almost one carat, but this is very approximate.
DIAMOND RING. An 18ct. gold, three stone diamond ring. The largest stone of approx. 1ct. spread. The smaller stones approx. 0.40ct. spread. Size W/X. CONDITION REPORTS: The central stones measures 6.2 x 2.95. The colour is H/J and the clarity is SI2. The smaller stones are 4.9 and 4.8. The colour is H/J and the clarity is SI1 and VS2.
DIAMOND RING. An Austrian gold & diamond ring, the central stone of approx. 0.65ct. spread. Size L/M. CONDITION REPORTS: This ring is in good, pre-owned condition. The stones are all intact and appear original. The shank has worn a little thin, but is still wearable. Overall, a very attractive ring. We are not qualified gemologists, but can report that one of the stones at the top point of the ring has a fissure, visible with 60 x magnification. The central stone is quite clean but some of the smaller stones are included. The stone with the fissure has inclusions.
