Articulated blade edge bar pendant drops, each with a pair of laurel leaves set with split pearls, with a pear cut amethyst set below, and to each scroll top. A trace chain split to each side, with a half solid bolt ring clasp. Tested as approximately 9ct gold. A case with gilt initials to the lid C.A.G. 492mm long, 8.93gJump ring to end of chain should be replaced, too small. A jump ring inserted into the chain to enable it to be worn at an alternative length.No chips to the gemstones.Box tatty.

Lot 15

A Georgian gold memorial ring,woven hair to a glazed panel, with a border of split pearls in clawed collets, to a black enamel surround. The underside of the head engraved 'In memory of Sir R D'Arcy Hildyard Br', to a tapered reeded shank. Tested as approximately 15ct gold, 4.54g.Finger size NSir Robert D'Arcy Hildyard was the 4th Baronet of Patrington, in the County of York. He was High Sheriff of Yorkshire in 1783, and died in 1814 without male issue, at which time the baronetcy became extinct. The first Baronet, Sir Robert Hildyard, served as Gentleman to the Bedchamber of King Charles I, and as a colonel in the royal army during the Civil War. He was raised to baronetcy by Charles II following the Restoration of the Monarchy. The Hildyard family is an ancient line, with the earliest name on the pedigree being Robert Hildeyard, or Hildheard, of Normanby, c.1200. A Georgian rose cut diamond cluster ring,with an oval foil backed Dutch rose cut diamond to the centre. A border of smaller circular foil backed rose cut diamonds, all in silver cut down collets, with a gold dome back setting. A later replacement shank with split shoulders to a plain shank, with ridged detail at the shoulders and the base. Tested as approximately 9ct gold and sterling silver. Head 17.50 x 16.40mm, 3.77g.Finger size K½ - L approximatelyCondition ReportTarnished head.Some deterioration to the foil backs under 10x magnification.Scratches and marks consistent with its age. The shank and dome back well matched for colour. Under 10x magnification pin holes between the dome back and setting edge. Not round on the ring shank due to dome back.Diamond clarity: as these are dirty and foil backed, this is not something that can be judged in the normal way.  As a guide:  SI1/SI2 range.  Some of the smaller diamonds with indented inclusions P1/P2.

A graduated garnet set fringe necklace and garnet bracelet, c.1930,with a series of graduated emerald cut garnets, all four claw set in shallow collets, forming the centrepiece. Trace chain to each side with a bolt ring clasp and a matching bracelet with a concealed box clasp. Tested as approximately 9ct gold. Bracelet 183mm long, necklace 405mm long, 17.50gSome deficiencies in the dimensions and proportions of the cuts. There was possibly a figure of eight safety catch on the bracelet clasp.Minor marks to the table or crown facet edges under 10x magnification. Fairly rose gold in colour, the chain less so.
