Condition report: Watch currently ticking. Chiming action inconsistently chimes when the button is physically 'moved' Doesn't appear to be chiming when hands move. Appears movement will require attention. Case with good 'snap' functionality. Partial movement seen to the reverse, the rest off the movement needs plate to be 'screwed' off. Top ring shows major thinning commensurate with being worn, remainder of the case doesn't appear to have major signs of thinning. Dial with minor crack to centre radiating out towards 5 o'clock, and further crack from subsidiary dial radiating out towards 2 o'clock. Glass to dial and outside case both with scratches. General scuffs and surface blemishes to the case, commensurate with use. Enamelling to reverse of case in good condition, loss seen to the face of the lion. 'Knife marks' to upper left hand side of the reverse of the case.Pocket watch would overall benefit from a clean.

A 19th century 18ct yellow gold and diamond gypsy ring, the five old cut diamonds in engraved star design, set to plain polished shank, stamped ‘JG’ London 1877, ring size P, 6gms, total diamond weight estimated 0.45ct Condition report: Diamonds are all present, bright and lively. There are inclusions seen to all diamonds under x10 loupe. They are clean stones to the naked eye. Possible evidence of re sizing seen to the shank, this is seen as minor discolouration. Makers mark is rubbed. There appears to be all over general scuffs and surface blemishes to the shank, commensurate with age and wear. Claws appears a little low, may require attention. Minor thinning to the shank.

All diamonds are present, bright and lively. There are inclusions seen under x10 loupe to all diamonds, but they appear clean to the naked eye. There appears to be a chip to the table of one of the diamonds. The diamonds are a mixture of cuts. Claws appear a little low, may require attention. There are general minor scuffs and surface blemishes seen throughout the shank and ring, commensurate with age and use. No obvious signs of thinning, or re sizing to shank. Hallmarks appear crisp.

Brian Nordgren Wigan Rugby League medals, Six Medals comprising: 2 Challenge Cup Winner`s Medals and a Runners-Up Medal, 3 Championship Winners Medals silver-gilt and enamel Challenge Cup winners medal 1947-48, inscribed with the player`s name silver-gilt & enamel Challenge Cup winners medal 1950-51 silver-gilt and enamel Challenge Cup runners-up medal 1946, inscribed with the player`s name a 9ct gold and enamel Northern Rugby Football League winners medal 1946-47, inscribed with the player`s name a silver-gilt and enamel Northern Rugby Football League winners medal 1949-50 a silver-gilt and enamel Northern Rugby Football League winner`s medal 1951-52 Brian Nordgren (1926-2007) is widely regarded as one of the greatest wings that has ever played for Wigan. He is 3rd in the all-time list with 312 tries behind only Billy Boston and Johnny Ring. In the 1949/50 season he scored a remarkable 57 tries. He was a New Zealander born in Greymouth and was raised in a Christchurch orphanage. He had tried to join the Army in 1940 claiming he was of age until a family member revealed he was still only 17 and he was discharged. He began his career with Ponsonby in 1945 scoring 267 points in the Auckland Rugby League and also represented Auckland. In December 1945 Wigan sensationally signed Nordgren together with Ces Mountford catching the New Zealand Rugby League seemingly unawares that a previously imposed transfer ban had elapsed. Nordgren made his debut for Wigan v Warrington on 3rd April 1946 and between then and 1945 helped the Lancashire club to three championship titles and three Challenge Cups finals, twice as winners. When he retired in 1955, having played 293 games, he had amassed 1,172 points. Leaving the Club after 10 seasons he returned to New Zealand to practise as a lawyer-having qualified at Liverpool University whilst still playing for the Club.
