Georgian 18ct yellow gold and white enamel memorial ring inscribed "PET D'ORE ESQ NORROY KING OF ARMS OB 27 SEP.1781". Peter Dore is listed as the Norroy King of Arms in 1781. Norroy is now and has long been the second of the provincial kings. The King of Arms at the College of Heralds had jurisdiction over England north of the Trent and the six counties of Northern Ireland. He was born 1716 at Hinton Parver, Wiltshire, grandson of Thomas Dore Grantee of the Arms 1778, died suddenly of apoplexy on board the East-Indiaman Dutton at Gravesend, 27th September 1781
