circa 1851, the signed white dial, 45mm diameter, with black Roman numerals, copper coloured fleur de lys hands, subsidiary seconds register at 6 o'clock and chemin de fer chapter ring, signed jewelled key wind movement number 8888 with diamond end stone and repeating mechanism activated by a plunger at 12 o'clock, case, 50mm diameter, verso hinged at 6 o'clock, engine turned around a central vacant and belted escutcheon shaped cartouche, interior numbered 8888, with London hallmarks for 18ct gold, and casemaker's mark of Josiah Barnett & William Waters, the cuvette similarly marked, 121.6g grossCase - Generally in good condition with no obvious sign of damage or repair. Some minor surface scratches as to be expected together with some minor staining to the reverse.Dial - Generally in good condition. A very minor hairline crack at the edge between 3 and 4 o'clock, and a further hairline crack at the edge between 9 and 10 o'clock.Movement - Not currently in working order (balance wheel moves for one or two seconds then stops) and with a three quarter plate movement it is not possible to see whether it is a quarter or minute repeating movement without removing the movement from the case, which has not been done. The activation plunger is a little stiff but does spring back when pushed.
