World flight Souvenir. Signatures of Eckener, Lehmann, Pruss, Schiller and others. The lid of a box of chocolate-liqueurs, signed in pencil by the Captain and others on the world flight of the “Graf Zeppelin” in 1929, together with correspondence between Professor Henry Cord Meyer, and Karl Rösch (one of the signatories). The lid of the box has been opened at the corners to create a flat surface. Along the bottom edge is written “Weltfahrt „Graf Zeppelin”” At the top are eight signatures, in pencil. These appear to be: H. Eckener (Commander), E.A. Lehmann , Hans von Schiller, Max Pruss, (Watch Officers) , H Wilkins (Passenger), W. Siegle (Chief Engineer), W. Speck (Radio Operator) and Karl Rösch (Engineer). The first letter is the a carbon copy from Meyer to Rösch (dated 20 October 1975) typed in German, and asks, among other things, whether Rösch can recall signing the chocolate box alongside the others. Rösch’s reply in April 1976 is handwritten, and he recalls such an event (presumably because a lowly engineer did not regularly get asked for his signature alongside the senior officers). A typed translation of Rösch’s letter has been added, but the translation dates are in error.GC

Albert PARAZ (1899-1957). 3 L.A.S et 1 L.S., Vence mai-décembre 1956, à Pascal PIA ; 5 pages in-4, enveloppes. , 3 mai. On verra bien “…

Georges RIBEMONT-DESSAIGNES (1884-1974). 2 L.A.S., 1943-1957, à Pascal PIA ; 2 et 3 pages in-4, enveloppes. , Chassiers 26 janvier 1943.

Our Pagoda is a 250 SL which was only produced in 1967 and 1968. Manufactured in 1967, its history is proven from 1969 onwards. It was bought by a hairdresser from the Alsace region of France who kept it until 2004. It was sold to a lady from Versailles who had extensive work carried out such as dismantling the gearbox and fitting new bearings and obviously gaskets. The engine was rebuilt at some point at which time the odometer was zeroed out. Recent bills show work on the front axle and engine cradle to the sum of 2600€. At around the same period, the clutch and slave cylinder were replaced. It was inspected a few days ago while up in the air and the underpinnings are rust-free. Its only downsides would be a small 1in tear in the driver`s seat and a light bump in the passenger-side rear bumper. Its owner, a retired German aircraft and auto engineer will also offer a brand new Becker Europa radio. This Pagoda is a very well cared-for example, the likes of which the market is increasingly demanding.
