HILTON JAMES: (1900-1954) English Novelist of Goodbye Mr Chips (1934). T.L.S., James Hilton, one page, 8vo (neatly trimmed to the base, apparently without any loss of text), en route from Chicago to Hollywood, 9th December 1935, to Mr. Muschamp, on the printed stationery of The Chief. Hilton thanks his correspondent for their 'delightful tribute' on his radio talk and remarking '…you are right, I am sure, in suggesting that Mr. Chips would have enjoyed New York as much as I did'. Together with Robert Donat (1905-1958) English Actor, starred in the film Goodbye Mr. Chips (1939) for which he won an Academy Award for Best Actor. Vintage signed 5 x 7 photograph of Donat in a head and shoulders pose. Signed in blue fountain pen ink with his name alone to the image, partially across a darker area although reasonably legible. Some very slight, extremely minor traces of former mounting to the corners. About VG, 2   £100-150

An excellent vintage signed and inscribed 8 x 10 photograph of Welles in a half length pose holding a lit cigar in one hand. With the credit stamp of RKO Radio Pictures Inc., 1945 to the verso. Signed by Welles in dark fountain pen ink to a clear area of the image, 'To Ronnie, Orson Welles'. A few small, minor pinholes to the corners of the white borders and some minor, light surface creases, otherwise VG  £300-400

Measures 50cm x 63cm, and a framed TV Comic Character Alf Garnett Caricature with Dedication and Signature of Till Death Do Us Part Script Writer Johnny Speight, the ink hand drawn sketch shows the famous British TV character Alf Garnet signed Cole 77. Artwork has signed dedication to the bottom “It looks more like Enoch (Blood Brothers)”. Housed in a glazed frame. Measures 54cm x 72cm.
