1986 Nissan 300ZX Z31Reg. no. E660 CNLChassis no. JN10HGZ31U0030368Engine no. VG30-071737Transmission: ManualMileage: 69,913MOT: Expired For a period of time the world forgot about 1980s Japanese sports cars, but these are now coming back with a bang onto the classic car market. The first generation of 300ZX, the Z31, was built from 1983 - 1989, offering buyers that typical retro sports car wedge shape with iconic pop-up headlights. With a drag coefficient of just 0.31 and Nissan’s first mass produced V6, the VG30, the car had good performance for the era. The 2+2 Coupe in 1986 featured some pre facelift parts but also some older parts as the model evolved, making it a unique year for these cars. This version of the Z car featured cruise control, electric mirrors and electric windows. This example with the 3-litre V6 NA engine, features a manual gearbox and glass T-top. It has been stored in a barn for a number of years whilst having sporadic work carried out. The paintwork has taken sun damage over the years, quite typical with a red car, but the underside looks to be solid having had some recent welding and the bodywork is quite straight. It has done very little mileage since 2018. The car runs and drives with the engine running smoothly and the gearbox selecting all gears. The interior also remains in good order aside from the driver’s bolster. The only aftermarket parts that appear to be fitted are a stainless exhaust system, cone air filter, radio and a Nardi steering wheel (original included). It has been sat for some time so the car will require some restoration, but it is a great base for what is now a very rare vehicle. The sale includes a number of spares, a V5C logbook as well as a large folder of history including old servicing and parts receipts. Previous work includes replacement of an outer sill, inner arch and section of the floor in 2021. It also received a timing belt in 2017 and an alternator in 2019 but appears to have very little use if any during current ownership. There seem to a number of parts receipts from Japan which suggests that many items are still available to buy.Estimate: £4,000 – 6,000To be auctioned along with a fantastic selection of other vehicles on March 5th at our Showell Farm site, SN15 2NU. Viewing is welcome prior to sale and all cars are sold as seen, condition reports can be requested on each lot by contacting us direct. Lots are not available to buy prior to auction. Fully illustrated catalogue is available on the Richard Edmonds Auction website. Bids can be made online, by telephone or live on site. All lots are subject to commission.Vehicles that are un-registered or on foreign plates may require Import Duty and Vat to be paid upon purchase via HMRC prior to registering with the DVLA for a UK plate, if you are not sure please ask. For classic cars over 30 years this equates to 5% Duty on the final value.
1989 Ford Sierra RS CosworthReg. no. G381 KWJChassis no. WF0FXXGBBFKR01249Engine no. KR01249Transmission: ManualMileage: 72,000 In the early to mid-1980’s Ford had realised that their success in the world of rallying had dwindled after a very successful period in the 1960’s and 1970’s. Stuart turner, head of Ford Motorsport Europe and Walter Hayes, vice president of public relations at Ford at the time got their heads together and began to form the design and plan for the Ford Sierra. Throw in the mix the vice-president of Cosworth, Ken Kohrs and you have a potential cocktail of great automotive minds to ultimately produce the next generation of successful Ford engines in the form of the YBB turbocharged Cosworth. The 2nd version of the Sierra Cosworth remained in 2WD with a more sales friendly 4-door shell. Ford carried out extensive testing with the Sierra Cosworth, pre-production and as a result received reasonable success in both Group N and Group A form in rallying all over the world. The model was piloted by famous drivers such as Francois Delacour, Massimo Biasion and of course the legendary Jimmy McRae. With great motorsport success came brilliant public sales and the Cosworth was well received in both the UK and Europe. This original looking example is finished in Moonstone Blue and fitted with factory alloy wheels and radio; this iconic Ford is well presented with better than factory paintwork and stunning black leather interior with steering wheel, gear knob and carpet in near immaculate order. It boasts an engine bay that presents extremely well, with the stand-out red rocker cover and Garrett turbo mounted proudly next to the engine. The underside has also received restoration and has been protected for the future. With just two previous owners, restoration was carried out recently by a rallying family and this car sits on just 72,000 miles. This particular example is in absolutely fantastic condition and would complement any collection.A fantastic example that any blue oval or motorsport enthusiast would aspire to own. A current V5C document is included, old MOT’s, as well as original Ford manuals including the service book stamped up to 69,829 miles. There is also a vast number of parts and service receipts, many of which are from RS specialists, Castle Performance Engineering. The car would only benefit from re-trimmed front door cards and an MSD cooling fan harness as this seems to be currently intermittent.Estimate: £32,000 – 35,000To be auctioned along with a fantastic selection of other vehicles on March 5th at our Showell Farm site, SN15 2NU. Viewing is welcome prior to sale and all cars are sold as seen, condition reports can be requested on each lot by contacting us direct. Lots are not available to buy prior to auction. Stuart Walton (b.1933)''Amber Slide''Signed and dated (19)96, inscribed verso, acrylic on shaped mdf, 74cm by 73cm Stuart has enjoyed tremendous success up until his retirement in 2019. Born in Dewsbury, Yorkshire, he started painting industrial landscapes in the late 1960’s (see lot 29) and became a full-time professional artist in the 1970’s.Yorkshire Television appointed him as their first fine arts fellow in 1972, and he was exhibited in many one-man, group and open exhibitions throughout the country including London galleries. He has made many local radio broadcasts, gave the British M.E.N.S.A lecture in London in October 1975, and was the subject of a television film screened in 1973.After completing his national service in the R.A.F in 1954, he became very interested in abstract painting and painters. He soon ventured into abstract expressionism influenced by Franz Kline, Jackon Pollock and other American artists of that period.Within a couple of years, he had settled into hard-edge painting and construction which he continued throughout the 1960’s. A whole stream of works was produced and exhibited in the north and in London galleries, this being possibly the most rewarding period to date.In 1970 Stuart gave up his job as Assistant Display Manager to paint full time. He started producing figurative pieces mainly of street scenes of the northern industrial cities. Of course, the subject matter was not new to him, having grown up in that environment, which explains his great affection for it, he continued this until 1990’s.From 1990, he has returned to his first love, abstract painting. The works on show are a result of his interest on the mass media, such as, television, glossy magazines, billboards and any printed ephemera. The works are composite selected particles from which we are constantly bombarded. He continued his abstract painting until he returned to his street scenes in 2013 (see lots 30-32) before retiring in 2019, where he completed his last street scene. Some light surface dirt and debris trapped under glass. Blue tack attached to the centre of the bottom edge of the frame. Otherwise in good overall condition. Not examined out of the frame.
