Muriel George, Ernest Butcher, Joe Loss and 1 other multi signed page from a mid-1930s autograph book, approximately 7.5 inches x 6 ichthys vintage page is signed by Joe Loss (1909 1990) British musician and dance band leader of The Joss Loss Orchestra, one of the most successful acts of the big band era their signature tune being In The Mood. In 1989 Loss passed leadership of the orchestra to Todd Miller and in 2015 the group celebrated their 85th anniversary: Muriel George (1883 1965) British music hall and radio singer, TV and film actress. During her career Muriel George made over 60 appearances in films and on TV between 1932 and 1955 often in motherly roles such as a landlady. She also appeared on the variety stage and sang on radio with her second husband, Ernest Butcher: Ernest Butcher (1885 1965) British music hall and radio singer, TV and film actor. During his career Edward Ernest Butcher made over 30 appearances in films between 1935 to 1959. He also appeared on the variety stage and sang on radio with his wife, Muriel George and one other unidentified signature very likely to be from the same period. Good condition Est.

(152.5 x 213.5 x 61cm.)Provenance: Deaccessioned from the Russell-Cotes Museum, Bournemouth, 2021.Footnote: Originally named Alistruther she was renamed Langleeridge in 1929 for the same owner. Registering 350ft with a 50ft beam she displaced 3811 tons with her engines developing 12 knots.
