DAVID BOWIE UK MERCURY DEMOS X 2 - PRETTIEST STAR & MEMORY OF A FREE FESTIVAL PART 1. Superb pairing of Bowie demos from 1970 to include The Prettiest Star (on which Marc Bolan played guitar) and Memory of a Free Festival Part 1. Prettiest Star (MF1135) is in beautiful Ex+ condition and would be archive if not for a couple of small and wispy hairlines - a number has been written on the label in red ink. Memory of a Free Festival Part 1 is again in stunning Ex+ condition with just a couple of very minor hairlines that are only visible under strong light - the date "26-6-70" is written on the label in black ballpoint. Both are presented in their original company sleeves. Provenance: Our vendor has been a prominent figure in the music industry from 1970 to the present day presenting music shows both on the radio and TV.

Lot 197

MARC BOLAN'S 3 TRACK ACETATE OF T.REX'S RIDE A WHITE SWAN, JEWEL & SUMMERTIME BLUES. Marc's personal audiodisc acetate of Ride A White Swan with Jewel and Summertime Blues on the flip side. The track Jewel never went onto feature on the B-side and was instead replaced by "Is It Love". The labels have been handwritten by Marc and dated Sep.28 which we presume was 1970. Interestingly the title "Ride a Swan" has been crossed out by Marc and replaced with "Ride a White Swan". The acetate is in VG+ condition with some light marks and scuffs but nothing heavy or that affects play - it plays through very clearly and the sound quality is excellent. Provenance: Our vendor has been a prominent figure in the music industry from 1970 to the present day presenting music shows both on the radio and TV.

Lot 198

TEST PRESSINGS OF T.REX'S SLIDER LP & TELEGRAM SAM 7"COMPLETE WITH MARC BOLAN HANDWRITTEN SLEEVE AND SKETCH ON REVERSE. Another incredible pairing this time to include two single-sided UK test pressings of T.Rex's 1972 Slider LP and a test pressing of their 1972 single Telegram Sam c/w Cadillac & Baby Stance. Marc Bolan has written the track listings and other recording information in orange pen on one side of the plain white sleeve that houses the Slider test pressings. On the other side of the sleeve he has drawn a sketch and included a note to the vendor which reads "For Bob & Family all love MB". Both the outer sleeve and the white inner sleeves that hold the vinyl are date stamped 29 JUN 1972 - the two single sided vinyl records have handwritten labels and are in stunning Ex+ archive condition - matrix numbers read BLN5001 A-2U/B-2U. The Telegram Sam test 7" test pressing has handwritten labels with the catalogue number T.REX101 along with date stamps on the labels and white sleeve reading "21 JAN 1972" - the vinyl (stamped matrix YT-REX 101 A-2U/B-2U) is in excellent condition with a few very light hairlines and minor scuffs. Provenance: Our vendor has been a prominent figure in the music industry from 1970 to the present day presenting music shows both on the radio and TV.

Lot 199

HANDWRITTEN MARC BOLAN LETTER PLUS TYRANNOSAURUS REX PROPHETS, SEERS & SAGES LP. Beautifully handwritten letter from Marc Bolan to our vendor (Bob) complete with silver stars and sketches along with a UK stereo 1st pressing of Prophets, Seers & Sages The Angels of The Ages as referenced in the letter. The letter would have been written in the August or September of 1968 ahead of the release of the LP in October 1968. Within the letter Marc provides Bob with some important info relating to the LP and also adds in a nice little sketch alongside the band name "Tyrannosaurus Rex" - he ends the letter by saying "May your eyes ever shine with happiness love Marc". The UK 1st press LP (SRLZ1005) is in excellent condition with a few light hairlines and some minor scuffs - the sleeve is VG+ condition with light edgewear and a 3" seam split along top edge. Provenance: Our vendor has been a prominent figure in the music industry from 1970 to the present day presenting music shows both on the radio and TV.
