Egyptian Polychrome New Kingdom Shabti, C. 1550-1290 BC. A striking large New Kingdom Egyptian polychrome limestone shabti with beautiful design and paint remaining, the mummiform burial shabti's arms are painted in red and are crossed holding a hoe, the stylised pick and seed bag over the shoulder. The base contains a verticle column painted in red of horizontal hieroglyphic text. Still remainder of vibrant red, black and yellow paint work. Stunning detail to the collar and facial details. Highly decorated on the reverse side with hieroglyphs with visible bands. Egypt, New Kingdom, 1550 - 1290 BC. XVIII Dynasty. Intact; Good paint remaining. Size: 21.5cm  Provenance: From an old English Collection. Acquired in Egypt in 1915 by William Elliot of the Scots Guard. This then passed to G. W Judd who was a Radio operator officer in World War II (1923) Following this it passed onto Jim Judd who resumed the fascination of Egyptian history and antiquities. Finally, this was inherited by Andy Sayer, the son of Jim Judd.
