1988 Porsche 944 S Make: Porsche Model: 944 S Year: 1988Mileage: 149197VIN: WP0ZZZ94ZJN400661Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: E95SHBTransmission: ManualFive years after the 1982 introduction of the Porsche 944, the S variant was launched. The S (for Super) featured a high-performance twin-overhead-cam 16-valve 187bhp 2479cc engine, and was capable of 0-60mph in 6.5 seconds and a top speed of 144 mph. Elsewhere there were transmission and suspension tweaks, the latter also improving the handling. This red example was registered in May 1988 and has had nine former registered keepers since then, according to the V5C with the last owner registered since 2012. The odometer reading is 149,917 miles, although this isn't warranted. Please note, the car is currently not running. There's a Haynes workshop manual, plus the original document wallet with owner's manual, dealership directory, radio booklet and other sundry items, plus the service book, which is stamped up to 124,040 miles in 2010.
1986 Mercedes R107 500 SL Auto Make: MercedesModel: 500 SLYear: 1986Mileage: 95762VIN: WDB1070462A056181Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: D883ACFTransmission: automaticThe V8-powered 500SL was the flagship of the R107 range (in Europe at least, as the even mightier 560SL was only available in the USA). This example, registered December 1986, is very presentable with cream paint and a beige leather interior. However, it is being sold as a non-runner. Five former registered keepers are noted on the V5C, which is present in the paperwork file. The odometer reading is 95,762 miles, with the last MoT expiring in August 2020. The original leather document wallet is included, with the owner's manual, hard-top lift instructions, European service booklet, and Kenwood CD/radio instructions. There are two service booklets, with stamps from 1987 to 2009 (75,398 miles) in one, and then 2010 to January 2020 (95,356 miles) in the other. A spare set of keys, with immobiliser decoder, also comes with the car, as does the factory hard-top.
1966 Mercedes W111 250 SE Auto CoupeMake: Mercedes Model: 250 SE CoupeYear: 1969Mileage: 31203VIN: 11102122086735Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: GFX178DTransmission: automatic This 1966 Mercedes 250 SE Coupe has been fitted with the 2.8-litre straight-six engine from a 280 SE of the same era. It is finished in metallic blue with contrasting fawn leather, with its odometer showing 31,203 miles. Although built in 1966, the car was only registered in the UK in May 1969 according to the V5C. Nevertheless, it's an original right-hand drive example, with four-speed automatic transmission. According to information from the vendor - who recently won the car in a competition - the M130 2.8-litre engine was fitted in 2020, after the failure of the original motor. Prior to the vendor, the previous owner had the car for two years and covered around 2000 miles, before selling the car due to ill health. He had purchased the car from the person responsible for its upkeep over a 32-year period. Among its reported previous owners - 10 former keepers are registered on the V5C - are, reputedly, comedian and actor David Walliams and the Fifty Shades of Grey author E L James. From a search online, it seems that Walliams sold it in 2005. The car is overall in very good condition. There is some minor pitting to the chrome, a small scratch to the front left light housing and front end, a small dent in the front bumper and a previously repaired chip to the roof. The 14in Baroque alloy wheels are all in excellent order, with comparatively fresh tyres, although they're not matching. Inside, the fawn leather interior is believed to be original and so show some signs of age; there's a small tear to the passenger seat and some slight sagging to the driver's seat, although the carpets appear in very good order. The wood shows some aging - that on the top of the dash often deteriorates on these cars due to sun magnified by the glass through the windscreen - but is still pretty good. A period radio is fitted. The windscreen wipers apparently require servicing and the dimmer and full-beam switches for the lights are functional but reversed. The most recent service was at 31,100 miles by Henrietta Mews Garage in Bath. The car is now exempt from MoT testing due to its age, but at its last test in April 2018 (at 29,318) it passed with no advisories. The paperwork file includes the current V5C as well as a few past ones. There are also MoT certificates from 2018, 2017, 2015, 2006, 2005, 2004, 2003, 2002, 2000 and 1999 plus assorted 21st century bills. The odometer reading is 53,644 miles and the present MoT is valid until December 2022. Seven previous registered keepers are recorded on the V5C. The history folder includes the current and past V5C documents and MoT certificates from 1998, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2006, 2010, 2011, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2021. These confirm under 10,000 miles covered in the last 24 years. Invoices in the file stretch back to 2004 and include one for a new battery in 2018 and a Becker Europa period radio during 2016, at a cost of over £400. The original new car books, in their plastic folder, are present and include the owner's manual, UK dealership listing, Blaupunkt Bologna radio manual, European dealership guide, and service booklet, stamped up to 52,600 miles in 2016 (although the preceding service was at 42,310 miles in 1990). 1983 Mercedes R107 500 SL AutoMake: MercedesModel: 500 SL Year: 1983Mileage: 56923VIN: 10704622003063Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: A769ERTTransmission: automatic The long-lived R107 generation of Mercedes-Benz's SL range of sports cars was in production from 1971 to 1989. In 1980, the flagship 500SL model debuted with a 237bhp 4973cc V8 engine, and stayed as part of the line-up until the R107 range came to an end during 1989. This example was registered in September 1983 and has three former registered keepers according to its V5C, which is present in the paperwork file. The odometer reading is 50,923 miles, and while this isn't warranted, the service booklet is stamped up to 37,546 miles in September 1998. Checking with the online MoT history, the test in April 2006 was undertaken at an indicated 41,015 miles, with a low annual mileage since then. Accompanying the service booklet is the original leather document wallet with the owner's manual and Sony radio/cassette player instructions. Additional paperwork includes an RAC vehicle history check, 2014 tax disc, and MoT certificates from 2019 and 2021. The car also comes with a spare set of master keys as well as its factory hard-top. Inside and out, the overall condition of this dark blue Mercedes with pale grey interior is good.
1990 Volvo 740 GL - Idris Elba's 'Luther' carMake: Volvo Model: 740 GLYear: 1990Mileage: 0VIN: YV1744273L1490995Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: H654WKHTransmission: manualThe critically-acclaimed BBC psychological crime drama Luther, first broadcast in 2010, helped turn Idris Elba into an internationally famous star for his portrayal of DCI John Luther. One of Luther's trademarks was his love of old Volvos; in the first series, he drove a 240, and returned to that model for the fifth series. However, the big Swedish bruiser that got the most on-screen time with Idris was the pale metallic blue 1990 740 GL he drove in series two, three and four. H654 WKH is the Luther Volvo, registered in August 1990. It's in the same condition as when it appeared on TV, including missing bits of body trim and wheeltrims, plus a front wing in grey primer. Ordinarily, these might be regarded as negative points, but in the case of this 740 GL, they provide extra authenticity; this is the car as DCI Luther owned and drove it in the series. Inside, the car still has its prop two-way communications radio fitted, as well as what we believe is a blue light atop the dashboard. The Volvo can be seen starring alongside Idris Elba in these Luther YouTube segments: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3GcqRcYPZsI https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ld6C1JyiVDw Five former registered keepers are recorded for this 1986cc Volvo, which comes with its V5C (as well as a copy of some previous ones) and a current MoT certificate valid until January 2023. There are also test certificates dating from 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997, 2010, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2017 and 2018, with the ones from 2010 onwards showing very few miles covered year-to-year over that period. In 2010, the recorded mileage was 145,635 miles, it's now 145,921. There's also the original document folder with owner's manual, audio equipment instructions (with radio code), service manual and even a Volvo Lifetime Care cassette. The service book is stamped up to 102,698 miles (November 1998). Paperwork very specific to this particular car is a sheaf of BBC production call sheets and parking permits, as well as a cardboard cut-out of Idris Elba - for that extra touch of realism.
2003 MG TF Make: MGModel: TFYear: 2003Mileage: 92532VIN: SARRDWBKC3D615229Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: DE03CUKTransmission: manualThis grey MG TF was registered in March 2003, making it one of the earlier examples of the revamped MG F, which had been introduced in 1995. The current V5C is present, showing nine previous registered keepers, along with the Pioneer radio/CD operating manual. There are also MoT certificates from 2019, 2020 and 2021, with the current ticket expiring in October 2022, plus a print-out summary of MoTs back to 2006 (when the mileage was recorded as 37,113 - it's now 92,532 miles, a total confirmed by the MoT summary). The single bill in the file is a 2018 one for welding to the sills in 2018, at a cost of £216, to pass that year's MoT. The paperwork folder also includes an official MG Rover workshop manual, Rimmer Bros parts and accessories catalogues, and an MG Enthusiast special collectors' edition bookazine. The odometer indicates 85,650 miles although this isn't warranted. The vendor describes this Ford, with three former registered keepers noted on its V5C, as a 'straight car, used daily' and which he'd be happy to 'drive anywhere'.
