Signature of Flight Lieutenant James Keith O'Neill Edwards known affectionately in the RAF and the BBC as Jimmy Edwards. 3 page full documentation of the sale of his DFC won for his selfless heroism as pilot of a Dakota carrying out a re supply operation over the Arnhem area. When his aircraft was shot down he rescued his crew members from the burning aircraft and himself sustained burns to his face and one arm. Post war with his magnificent handlebar moustache and trombone he became a renowned BBC radio & television star of Take it from Here, Whacko as well as appearing in a number of feature films. J.E.MEADE - REFEREE Collection of 42 letters, appointment cards and referee literature relating to referee J.E.Meade from when he started circa 1938 to 1970. Mostly relates to mid forties and much of the correspondence is with North Wales Welsh FA. Commenced refereeing in the 1930s and was the top referee in the Central Mediterranean Area during 1944-45, refereeing the top Army games in Italy, Austria etc. He returned to Wales in 1946 and in 1949 officiated at a high level in Argentina for a period of seven years. He returned and appeared regularly on radio programmes (correspondence relating to this appears in this Lot) and became Chairman of the Southern referees. Many items are of Welsh interest. Generally good

It was never issued as a regular 7". Matrix numbers are JH10951A1/JH10951C1. Condition is VG+ with some very light surface marks on the record surface.
