1972 Mercedes 350 SLC AutoMake: MercedesModel: 350 SLCYear: 1972Mileage: 76863VIN: 10702322003923Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: SPE38LTransmission: AutoIn Tunis Beige with a black leather interior, this 3,499cc Mercedes-Benz 350 SLC was new in November 1972. Its life under seven owners has been comprehensively chronicled, with the packed history file stretching right the way back to the car's earliest days. Previous registrations include AOD 700L, 119 BRH and 558 MKP, before being re-registered SPE 38L around 15 years ago. Included in the history folder are the original owner's manual, maintenance booklet (stamped up to 76,578 miles in May 2019, when the car was serviced by Mercedes-Benz of Grimsby), vehicle data cards, tax discs dating back to the 1980s, and MoTs from 1979 onwards. These appear to back up the current recorded mileage of 76,863. A recent fitment, during 2020, is a retro-styled DAB radio with Bluetooth and USB,

1972 Land Rover 88 SIII Lightweight"Make: Land RoverModel: 88"Year: 1972Mileage: 37800VIN: 95100073AConfiguration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: PHJ481KTransmission: manualThe British Army - and others, across the globe - was a big user of Land Rovers, and this 1972 Series III Lightweight went into military service when new. Lightweights had considerable modifications compared to standard Landies, with parts removed to save weight and many body components easily removeable should even more pounds need to be shed. This 2286cc machine served with the Grenadier Guards from 1972 to 1976, then the Scots Guards until 1979 and the Coldstream Guards during 1984, before entering Civvy Street in 1985, according to the photocopy of the military history card that comes with it. There's also a copy of the British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate, showing its dispatch to the Central Army Vehicle Depot in Ashchurch in May 1972. The vendor acquired the vehicle in 2017. Recent jobs include a new starter motor and battery fitted in January this year, plus half-shafts replaced and a rear bench seat fitted during 2018. There are invoices for these jobs in the (somewhat lightweight) history folder. The odometer shows 37,800 although this is unwarranted. However, Land Rovers often covered comparatively few miles in military service compared to their civilian counterparts. For anybody wishing to show off the Lightweight at shows, it is now fitted again with lots of military equipment, such as a patrol radio, front-mounted antennas, flag mast and Grenadier Guards convoy badge, plus other bits and pieces. There's also a spare set of keys and a Series III Lightweight user manual. PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR VIDEO PRODUCED 29TH JULY BY ACA OF THIS CAR.

It comes with 2 original plus remote locking fobs. The bodywork is in super condition and so is the full leather interior, with split fold rear seats for extra-long loads. The mileage of 94,725 is warranted. PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR VIDEO PRODUCED 25TH AUGUST BY ACA OF THIS CAR.

1992 Mercedes W124 320 CE Auto 28,404 miles from newMake: MercedesModel: 320 CEYear: 1992Mileage: 28404VIN: WDB1240522B867684Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: K163YCPTransmission: automatic This Mercedes-Benz W124 320 CE Auto boasts both a remarkably low mileage and a superbly-presented history that completely backs up its recorded mileage of just 28,404 miles. As you'd expect from a car with so little use, it is in excellent condition, with very few signs of wear either inside or out. Registered in November 1992, the car stayed with its second owner from July 1993 to August 2019, before passing to the vendor. Originally costing in excess of £43,000 new, the factory options on this car included metallic paint - in this case Almadine Red - as well as leather interior, electric sunroof, heated seats, eight-hole alloy wheels, cruise control, walnut central cubby box, front central arm rest and overmats. The well-organised history folder includes the V5, original bill of sale (showing a Porsche 944S was traded in for the Mercedes) plus many invoices from that point onwards. There are MoTs from 1995 onwards, albeit with a break between 2012 and 2015 when, presumably, the vehicle was stored. The recommissioning service carried out by Nair Autos Ltd, a Mercedes-Benz specialist, in 2015 added up to just over £2036. More recent invoices include a November 2019 one for fuel pumps and filter (£463.70) and another for a full service plus some exhaust work in September 2020, costing £817.60. There are also original brochures, as well as the original Mercedes-Benz documentation wallet, with dealership directory, key code, radio manual, owner's handbook and service book, the latter being fully stamped up to 2020. 1986 Mercedes R107 560 SLMake: MercedesModel: 560 SLYear: 1986Mileage: 73800VIN: WDBBA48D3GA050138Configuration: Left Hand DriveRegistration: Contact AucitoneerTransmission: automatic With the big-engined 5549cc V8 560SL not being available when current in Europe, examples are few and far between on this side of the Atlantic. This one was part of a private SL collection in 'dry-state' California, until being shipped to the UK in 2020. Once here, the vendor reports that it was resprayed earlier this year, the electrics checked over and other work carried out. The import taxes have been paid, and a V5 registration document applied for. The document folder includes the original Los Angeles Mercedes-Benz invoice - for $55,060 including, amusingly, a 'gas guzzler tax' of $1300 - plus an Experian vehicle history report that throws up no red flags. There's also the rather tatty remnants of the owner's handbook, a guide to the Becker radio/cassette player and instructions on how to operate the cruise control. The original service history book shows servicing every year through until 1993, when the mileage was 73,804 miles. PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR VIDEO PRODUCED 21ST JULY BY ACA OF THIS CAR.

1989 Mercedes W126 300 SE Auto SaloonMake: MercedesModel: 300 SEYear: 1989Mileage: 92507VIN: WDB1260242A491673Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: G677CJTTransmission: automaticAcquired by the vendor - the car's third owner - in 2014, this metallic green W126 300 SE has been garaged and regularly maintained since then. That helps to explain its condition, which is close to excellent inside and out; aside from a few very minor blemishes, it looks like a vehicle much, much younger than its 32 years. The interior is especially well-preserved; there's not even any wear to the cloth seating, as you would expect from most other cars this age. The history folder includes the original owner's manual, service book (stamped up to 86,100 miles in 2008 - but there's paper evidence of servicing since then), instruction manual for the modern Sony CD Bluetooth radio, and a spare set of keys. The invoices and bills date from December 2001 - when the mileage was 48,101 miles - and seems to be just general maintenance and minor jobs rather than any significant mechanical or body work, although in 2006, the fuel metering unit had to be replaced at a cost of over £1000. Current mileage is 92,259, and the MoT runs until April 2022. PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR VIDEO PRODUCED 29TH JULY BY ACA OF THIS CAR.

1993 BMW E36 325i CoupeMake: BMWModel: 325i Coupe Year: 1993Mileage: 47000VIN: WBABF32090JB01683Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: UIB1485Transmission: manualThis third generation Series 3 (also known as the E36) 325i Coupe with manual transmission was registered in February 1995 and has had two previous keepers. It came as new with an M-Sport pack, Alpina front spoiler and sunroof, and has a current odometer reading of 10,405 miles - although there was a speedometer change in 2004, thus meaning the actual total is around 47,000; still a low tally for one of these 2494cc six-cylinder models. The current MoT expires in July 2022. The history folder contains the current and previous V5s, MoTs back to 1997, original BMW and Alpina brochure, some invoices and other paperwork, and the original BMW paperwork folder with service booklet (with a handful of stamps, the last one being in August 2020), Kenwood radio code, 1993/94 European dealership booklet and owner's handbook. The car was driven 150 miles to the auction, and is in very good condition inside and out, with the grey leather upholstery being especially smart. 1999 Ford Escort 1.6 Finesse Make: Ford Model: Escort Year: 1999Mileage: 43168VIN: WF0AXXBBAAXK20715Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: S263XJNTransmission: manualBy the time this Escort appeared, Ford had launched its new Focus and the outgoing Escort range had been trimmed to just two models - the Flight and the Finesse. It's the latter we have here; the Finesse being the better-equipped and more expensive variant with alloy wheels, air conditioning, a CD player, fog lamps and metallic paint. This two-owner example has covered just 43,168 miles, with two former owners; one private, one the original supplying Ford dealership. The history includes the original and current V5, spare key, service history (stamped up to 40,662 miles in September 2016) original Ford document wallet with cards, radio codes, booklets, audio guide and owner's handbook, and a selection of general maintenance bills, including a new catalytic converter at 40,193 miles (2016). The current MoT is valid to September 2021, albeit with advisories for rust underneath. Although the bodywork is generally in good order, the front ends of the outer sills are corroded. The interior is extremely presentable, as would be expected from a car that has covered just 43,168 miles in 22 years.

2005 Renault Megane Sport 225 6,577 miles from newMake: Renault Model: Megane Sport Year: 2005Mileage: 6577VIN: VF1CM0M0633205586Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: HK05YHWTransmission: manualAlthough this example of Renault’s very hot hatch of the mid-Noughties is 16 years old, it’s covered a mere 6577 miles in all that time. The rare pre-facelift model is finished in Steel Grey; only 173 of the three-door Sport 225 models were produced for the UK in this shade. Retained by Renault from new, after three months, it passed into the hands of a private owner, but its use was sparing – despite the undoubted appeal of its 2.0-litre turbocharged engine tuned to produce 225bhp, with a 0-60mph of 6.3 seconds and a top speed of 147mph. While its owner worked overseas, it was carefully stored until recently. Freshly MoT’d (with the certificate expiring in July 2022), the only flaws to this car, described as with a 'stunning, unmarked' interior, 'very good, original underside', 'lovely' engine bay and 'superb' driving experience by the vendor, are some storage marks on the body, including some scratches on the bonnet. It is, otherwise, unmodified and untouched, even down to the original tyres, and dealer number plates and tax disc holder still in place. The history folder includes the original and current V5, HPI certificate and unused spare key. There's also all the original booklets in their Renault-branded binder, such as the additional Megane Sport information supplement, security information, radio manual, owner's handbook, unstamped service book and other miscellaneous documentation supplied when the car was new. 1959 Fairthorpe Electron MinorMake: Fairthorpe Model: Electron Minor Year: 1959Mileage: 34904VIN: 10173Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: PPM675Transmission: manualFounded by Australian aviation pioneer and bomber pilot Air Vice Marshall Donald Bennett, Fairthorpe built small sports cars from 1954 to 1973. In 1956, it launched the open two-seater Electron, using a 1098cc overhead-cam Coventry Climax engine. This was followed by the cheaper Electron Minor in 1957, which used the less potent engine, transmission and rear axle from the Standard Ten. With various upgrades over the years, the Electron Minor remained the mainstay of Fairthorpe production until 1973, with about 700 being built. In 1990, this 1959 example was found as a wreck (with some racing modifications), and the owner who took it on had it restored in 1991 and again in 2016. After both rebuilds, it was exhibited at the Classic Motorshow in Birmingham. The history folder includes the current V5 plus the original green logbook, a £3750 bill for the 2015 rebuild plus a number of invoices for more recent parts and work and an extensive collection of Fairthorpe Sports Car Club magazines (including one with PPM 675 on its cover). There's also a small Fairthorpe Electron Minor brochure and an album of photos, showing what we assume is the car's 1991 restoration. The Fairthorpe is good order outside and in, with modern (and more comfortable seats) fitted as well as a radio/CD player. There's also a small collection of rally plaques and rosettes from shows and events previously attended by the Electron Minor. PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR VIDEO PRODUCED 6TH AUGUST BY ACA OF THIS CAR.

1982 Mercedes C123 280 CE Auto Make: Mercedes Model: 280 Cew AutoYear: 1982Mileage: 99421VIN: 12305322025447Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: OJM922XTransmission: Automatic When new in 1982, this smart Mercedes-Benz coupe, in Silver Blue Metallic with Blue leather, was fitted with the options of anti-lock brakes, self-levelling suspension, alloy wheels and a radio, at a total cost of £17,723.20. Its first owner, a doctor from Reading, kept a comprehensive notebook of all work carried out from his first day of custodianship. He kept it until 2007, by which point the mileage was 83,300. The new owner decided to keep the book going, recording new front wings fitted in April 2008, the alloy wheels refurbished in May 2008, and the leather seats recovered in June 2008. When the car passed to its third owner in 2013, situated in Galway, the records continued through to October 2017 before petering out. Between the three owners, a lot of money was spent on maintaining the Mercedes; if it needed a job doing, it was promptly done, usually by a Mercedes specialist. All of this handwritten information - and more - is confirmed by an extensive and well-organised history folder, with bills, MoTs (and Irish equivalents) and tax discs. The vehicle came back to the UK in 2019. The recorded mileage of 99,421 is backed up by the history, and the car is MoT'd until June 2022. Spare keys are included. The car remains in excellent condition, inside and out, with only light wear to the leather seats inside. PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR VIDEO PRODUCED 11TH AUGUST BY ACA OF THIS CAR.

1967 Vanden Plas Princess 4-Litre RMake: Vanden Model: Plas Princess Year: 1967Mileage: 0VIN: VRS36863MConfiguration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: HEB200FTransmission: automatic We have been advised by the vendor that this three-owner car remained with the same family from when it was two years old until very recently - being passed from father to son. It was serviced and MoT'd annually until 2020 when the last certificate was issued and has had very minimal use over the years. The mileage is warranted at 103,610. It comes with all MoTs dating from 1992 (when mileage was 85,739) to 2020 and service and maintenance receipts dating from 2005 until 2019. According to the paperwork, the Rolls-Royce-derived B60 3909cc engine was rebuilt in 2015 - to rectify some broken piston rings - at 103,300 miles, with the cost of the work coming to £3577.32. While there's no documentation detailing a restoration, the car's very good all-round condition, with minimal wear to the beige leather interior (in which even the original transistor radio works), suggests that some renovation work has been carried out over the years. When this might have been is unclear, but this luxurious and prestigious BMC flagship remains very well-preserved. PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR VIDEO PRODUCED 26TH AUGUST BY ACA OF THIS CAR.

1988 Volvo 740 GLE Auto EstateMake: Volvo Model: 740 GLE Estate Year: 1988Mileage: 169822VIN: YV1745845K2183765Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: F587TFRTransmission: automatic Big rear-wheel drive Volvos have an enviable reputation for both reliability and longevity. This 1988 example is a GLE, denoting one of the more more luxurious and better-equipped variants, and so comes with black leather interior to complement its metallic blue exterior. Fitted with the 2.3-litre ‘Red Block’ engine - a non-interference unit with its origins stretching back to the tough old 240 of the 1970s - this example comes with working heated front seats and original dealer-supplied hard tray mats and rigid boot liner. The vendor tells us that the front fog lights are new, and all electric windows are working, as are the sunroof (albeit with a broken deflector hinge that needs to be pressed down manually before closing) and the petrol and temperature gauge (a common fault on 740s). The MoT runs until October 2021; when tested, the car’s mileage was 169,651, it’s now 169,822. There is a partial history in the service book (up to 159,705 miles, albeit with a gap from 81,087 miles to 146,494 miles; earlier services are by a main Volvo dealer, the last three non-Volvo) which is present in the original dealer pack with other paperwork such as the owner’s handbook and radio instructions (with code). The 1980s’ factory radio is still in the car; other original features include the bright alloy wheels and mud guards. According to the vendor, both the ‘interior and exterior are commensurate with age and mileage, and the car does not smell of cigarettes or dogs. The leather is of average condition, with the rear seats better than the front. There are minor scratches and stonechips on the exterior, and the paint looks original apart from the nearside rear wheel arch. The only rust is a small amount on the bottom of the rear wheel arches, while the sunroof has a small blister on its paint (but this is aluminium).’ He also reports that the ignition key requires a ‘certain knack to remove it - you need to slightly pull it out as you turn the engine off to remove the key, otherwise it’s a bit of brute force’. He believes that a previous key breaking off in the lock may have caused this issue. It also appears that the headline has been replaced at some point, although the new one still has some faults. The car comes with its V5 and some current and past MoTs, plus a set of spare keys. PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR VIDEO PRODUCED 18TH AUGUST BY ACA OF THIS CAR.

1947 Triumph 1800 Roadster Make: Triumph Model: 1800 Roadster Year: 1947Mileage: 78375VIN: TRD704Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: YAS611Transmission: manualForever associated with Jim Bergerac's crime-busting antics in the hit BBC TV series of the 1980s and early 1990s, one of the Triumph Roadster's other claims to fame is that it was the last British car to feature a dickey seat. This 1947 example has been converted from column change to floor change (to a very professional standard), although the original bits will be sold with the car. The vendor reports that the car was restored from 2001 to 2003 - including having all its woodwork renewed - and was then used for shows and pleasure trips, including a a few visits to Jersey and, on one memorable occasion, ferrying John Nettles - Jim Bergerac himself - around when he opened the BBC Radio Norfolk show. The history file includes pictures of the restoration, MoTs dating back to 2006, and a wide assortment of 21st century bills, including one for a stainless steel exhaust in 2008. There's also the instruction book, Triumph Roadster Club restoration guide and technical handbook, plus a plaque from when the car won an award at the Hatton Country Show Rally in June 2007. The odometer records the mileage as 78,375. Although the restoration was getting on for 20 years ago now, the car's condition is holding up well, with the exterior and interior in very good order. The chrome is free from any significant blemishes, and the leather, wood and carpeting inside show very few signs of age or wear. PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR VIDEO PRODUCED 20TH JULY BY ACA OF THIS CAR.

Its recorded mileage of 63,340 is backed up by the service book - contained in the original Jaguar wallet along with the radio code, driver's handbook and audio system handbook - and the subsequent invoices for services and other work, plus the MoT certificates back to 2015. The V5 is present, and a spare key is included. PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR VIDEO PRODUCED 20TH AUGUST BY ACA OF THIS CAR.

1954 Volvo Sugga LHD (Ex-John Coghlan of Status Quo)Make: VolvoModel: SuggaYear: 1954Mileage: 0VIN: 216Configuration: Left Hand DriveRegistration: 638UYMTransmission: manualFrom the collection of the late Mike Crowe. In Swedish, 'Sugga' means 'Sow' - not, perhaps, the most complimentary of nicknames, but the Volvo PV800 Sugga was never intended to be a glamorous model, being aimed at the both the taxi market and, in four-wheel drive form, the military. It served with both the Swedish and Belgian armed forces from World War Two onwards. This 1954 example went into service as a TP21 Radio Command Car, fitted with a six-cylinder 3.7-litre sidevalve petrol engine. It was imported into the UK during 1979 and has since had four registered keepers. The vendor believes that one of them was John Coghlan, the original drummer from Status Quo, who is well-known for his love of 4x4 and military machines. Although there's nothing in the paperwork to confirm this, there are images on the internet of him with this vehicle when it was registered ELT 853T, after coming to the Isle of Man at the end of the 1970s. It now wears a more age-related numberplate. The paperwork file includes a V5, photocopied handbook, some MoTs dating back to 2004, a couple of small bills, and a 2015 copy of Windscreen: The Magazine of the Military Vehicle Trust, plus a page from a French magazine also discussing the type.
