1973 Triumph Stag 3.0Make: Triumph Model: Stag Year: 1973Mileage: 78671VIN: LD301560Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: PHY64MTransmission: manualThe vendor acquired this 1973 Triumph Stag in January 2015, and it was treated to a full engine rebuild over 2016 and 2017, complete with a lead-free conversion, pressure testing of the head and block, and new liners. A four-core radiator, new water pump, and new clutch were also fitted, and the flywheel was refaced. The bills for all of this work, which run into the thousands, are included in the history folder. Since the rebuild, the vendor tells us that less than 1000 miles have been covered. The history folder includes the V5C, MoT certificates from 2012, 2014, 2015, 2017, 2018, 2020, and a stack of invoices for the engine work plus other bills such as electronic ignition installation in 2015. In addition, there's the JVD radio/CD player instructions and owner's manual. The odometer reads 78,671 miles and six former registered keepers are noted. 1994 Suzuki Samurai Sport Make: Suzuki Model: Samurai SportYear: 1994Mileage: 0VIN: VSE0SJJ4D00135295Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: M733LYHTransmission: manualSuzuki's small but tough range of off-roaders, variously known as the Jimny and Samurai over the years, was introduced in 1970, with the second generation model (as here) being produced from 1981 to 1998. This 1298cc canvas soft-top example was built in 1994 but only imported from Germany and registered in this country in March 2002. Since then, it has five former registered keepers recorded while its MoT is valid until July 2022. The vehicle is fitted with a SPOA (Spring Perche Over Axle) kit, which raises the ride height for better ground clearance and the fitment of larger tyres if required. Included in the history folder is the V5C, current MoT certificate plus ones from 2002 (at 32,062 miles), 2003, 2004, 2005, 2008 and 2013. There's also a summary print-out of MoTs from 2006 to 2020. Also enclosed is the Pioneer radio/CD player instruction manual, vehicle information sheets, owner's handbook and service book with 11 stamps (albeit at irregular intervals later in the car's life), with the last one in July 2018 at 54,640 miles. The odometer records the present mileage as 55,087.

1993 Volvo 240 SE EstateMake: VolvoModel: 240 SE EstateYear: 1993Mileage: 117867VIN: YV1245273P1962438Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: L528GJOTransmission: manualThis 1993 silver version of Volvo's definitive load-lugger was registered in August 1993, making it one of the last to be built - with the SE tag denoting a Special Equipment runout edition. The vendor believes that these 'last of the lines' were sold to Volvo agents, which may account for one of the three former registered keepers noted on the V5C. The car is a 1986cc fuel-injected model with five-speed manual gearbox, electric windows, electric door mirrors, power steering and heated blue cloth seats. Its odometer reading is 117,867 although the vendor tells us it stopped working in 2012. However, with its regular but limited use since then, he now estimates it's around the 150,000-mile mark. The present vendor has owned the car since January 2008, and there's a full history of all work done since then. These include an alternator repair in November 2020 (£118), a new exhaust, two silencers and two pipes in September 2019 (£243) and a clutch and bearing in August 2017 (£345). The MoT is valid until May 2022; advisories noted were that both headlamp reflectors were slightly defective and there was windscreen damage, albeit not affecting the view. This referred to a one-inch diameter crack low on the nearside. The car is in generally good condition (especially the interior) and drives well. Issues noted include the wires broken at the boot hinge, so the rear wiper, heated rear screen and hatch central locking don't work. There's some missing trim from the rear bumper, although the clips remain. Minor rust is appearing along the bottom of some of the doors as well as at the bottom of the rear offside wheel arch. Inside, the heater fan is noisy, which is presumed to be down to worn bearings meaning the fan is rubbing on the housing. Three pairs of keys are included, as well as a Haynes workshop manual and the radio code. The car is also fitted with a tow bar, for any extra loads that can't be swallowed by its very commodious rear. PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR VIDEO PRODUCED 2ND NOVEMBER BY ACA OF THIS CAR.

The 230CE designation was used for the 134bhp Bosch fuel-injected 2299cc four-cylinder coupes, produced until 1985. This smart blue example (previously gold up until 2004) with grey striped cloth interior has a paperwork file that includes current and previous V5Cs, spare key and many bills dating back to late 1990s, testifying to lots of care, attention and diligent servicing over the years. The service book is stamped up to 127,210 miles and comes in the original plastic folder with the service guide, UK sales and service booklet, owner's manual and Alpine cassette radio guide. This V12 example was registered in January 1990. The previous owner acquired the Jaguar in 2005 and, being a motor engineer, worked on the car himself when required. The car's MoT is valid until the beginning of March 2022 and the history file includes the V5C (showing four former keepers), Jaguar document folder with owner's handbook, forecourt data card, radio/CD player documentation and other delivery paperwork. There's also a Jaguar accessories brochure and the service booklet, which is stamped up to 67,208 miles (April 2003). The MoT certificates range from 1993 to 2003 and then a handful of more recent ones which seem to confirm the current indicated mileage of 81,917 as genuine. There's an extensive selection of bills from the 1990s to around the time the car was acquired by its motor engineer owner. The bills then resume from 2021, with recent ones for a new battery and front nearside window regulator and motor, plus MoT work which involved considerable work to the brakes (including new calipers) plus a full service. 2002 BMW Z3 2.2i - One OwnerMake: BMWModel: Z3 SportYear: 2002Mileage: 67357VIN: WBACN12050LK17363Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: MD02XCNTransmission: ManualLaunched in 1995 as a follow-up to BMW's quirky Z1 roadster, the compact Z3 was a major success for the German company, adding a small, fun open top sports car to its range. Initially only available with a 1.9-litre four-cylinder engine, more potent six-cylinder versions soon followed. This 2171cc 168bhp six-pot example was registered in August 2002 and has had just one registered lady owner throughout its life, during which it has covered 67,358 miles. This total is confirmed by the full service history, with stamps at 9020, 14,685, 27058, 36660, 50958, 60571 and 67223 miles, the latter service having been carried out in May of this year. The current MoT runs until the end of January 2022. The car's spec includes heated black leather sports seats, power roof and electric windows. Overall, this BMW is in very good order; there's some minor lacquer peel on the rear bumper and a few age-related exterior blemishes, but the hood is in nice condition, as is the interior. The vendor reports that the car 'drives A1'. Included in the history file is the V5C plus original document wallet with owner's handbook, dealer warranty and emergency service booklet, care guide, accident management reference guide, radio instructions, European service contacts list, servicing explanation sheet and the actual service booklet. 1997 Volvo 940 Celebration EstateMake: Volvo Model: 940 Celebration Year: 1997Mileage: 81565VIN: YV1945811W1229537Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: R790PNNTransmission: manualThe 940 Celebration was a last-of-the-line model built to mark the passing of Volvo's traditional rear-wheel drive big four-cylinder estates, as the marque switched to front-wheel drive. Only available in estate form and with a host of extra equipment, it cost a hefty £18,425 on the road. Powered by the 2.3-litre light pressure turbo engine, the spec featured metallic paint, colour co-ordinated bumpers, sports grille, roof rails and 15-inch alloy wheels. Inside, there was half-leather upholstery, wood trim, air conditioning, front and rear electric windows, leather steering wheel, RDS radio cassette player, headlamp wash/wipers, ABS brakes, electrically-heated front seats and adjustable door mirrors. This example, in Blackberry Metallic with black cloth/grey leather interior, was registered in November 1997. Its odometer shows 81,565 miles (which is largely confirmed by the available history), and it has had three former keepers. Its MoT has only recently expired, in October of this year. Aside from the current V5C, the paperwork includes the original Volvo booklet wallet, with owner's manual, service book (stamped up 76,102 miles in 2014) and dealer network guide. The selection of invoices date from the middle of the first decade of the 21st century, as do the pair of MoT certificates. The Volvo's interior is in very good order; with little wear to the seats, nice wood, and no lifting of the vinyl covering on the door cappings (which often affects 900-series cars). Ripspeed tread plates are fitted in the door apertures, The exterior displays stone chips on the bonnet, and there are also areas of wear and flatness in the paint. Corrosion is evident on the nearside door mirror base and offside front wheel arch, which is holed. PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR VIDEO PRODUCED 7TH OCTOBER BY ACA OF THIS CAR.

This Marine Blue 1272cc 1990 CL model, (known as Minty) was registered in January of that year and has a very low mileage of just 39,214 miles. This can be warranted from the full service history and MoT certificates. The car was a 'run-out' edition prior to the facelift of the Polo. The history folder includes the current V5C showing three former registered keepers. There are also previous V5s, a selection of photos, old tax discs, tax disc holders from tghe supplying Drift Bridge Garage in Epsom, Blaupunkt radio details and removal keys, and a CD of computer files and photos up to 2015. It is finished in green with matching green leather interior. The current V5C lists five former keepers, and there are a few past V5 documents included in the history file as well. This also has a selection of MoTs from 2017 back to 1983, various bills from the 1970s onwards, and a handful of tax discs. Documents dating from the car's purchase include the Jaguar manufacturer's warranty, Radiomobile radio guarantee and service book - or 'periodic maintenance vouchers' booklet, as Jaguar liked to refer to it. There are 2002 and 2003 receipts from Jaguar specialist Robinson & Godwin Classics of Grimsby totalling £5000 for an engine and gearbox overhaul and some further renovation work, although little detail is given. This would have been around the 62,000-mile mark. The current odometer reading is 05891; referring to the history suggests this is actually 105,891. Overall condition is good, although there is some tarnishing apparent on the chrome and some bubbles apparent in areas on the paint. The seats have some surface cracks and the dashboard and door capping wood has some deterioration in places, but is generally surviving well. The rear window weatherstrip has started to break up around the back parcel shelf. PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR VIDEO PRODUCED 28TH SEPTEMBER BY ACA OF THIS CAR.

The MoT certificates range from 1984, 1992, 1995 to 2004, 2006 to 2008, 2010 to 2012, 2014 to 2016 and 2021. The present MoT is valid until May 2022. 2003 Jaguar XKR 4.2 Coupe Auto 24,000 miles from new Make: Jaguar Model: XKRYear: 2003Mileage: 38534VIN: SAJKC41R943A38842Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: LN53ABOTransmission: automaticOriginally registered in Japan in early 2003, the vendor tells us that this supercharged Jaguar XKR coupe was rarely driven out there for 15 years, where it was regarded as a status symbol. Upon coming to the UK in 2018, it has apparently been garaged and not used in bad weather. The current mileage is 23,934 miles (albeit recorded as 38,534km). The car is finished in Midnight Black with Dove Grey leather interior and rides on unmarked 18inch Hydra alloy wheels. The body is in excellent condition, with no signs of any paintwork being carried out, and just some polishing swirl marks and a couple of small stonechips by the nearside headlight being the only real blemishes. The door shut lines are even, the bumpers are free from any scuffs (thanks to parking sensors) and the Hydra alloys are very good. They're clad in Dunlop Sport tyres which were fitted less than 1500 miles ago. With Japanese roads seeing less salt than their British equivalents, the underneath of the Jaguar is very well-preserved. There's minimal wear to the Dove Grey interior, with the electrics on the front seats functioning as they should. The rear seat looks like it's had very little use. The speedometer is now in mph, but the odometer remains in Japanese market km. Both the sat nav and the radio have been converted to UK specification, and there's a six-disc CD changer in the boot. The vendor reports that the XJR drives and handles very well, pulls through its gears nicely and changes smoothly. There are no untoward noises. The brakes behave exactly as they should, pulling the car up sharply and in a straight line. The history file includes the UK V5C showing three former registered keepers. Among the most recent invoices are one for a full service in September 2020 plus replacement front anti-roll bar links (£671.76), MAF sensor in February 2020, (£142.80), a complete set of Dunlop tyres in July 2019 (£630) and a replacement steering rack in July 2018. The original document folder includes the audio systems handbook, maintenance record, quick guide and driver's handbook, albeit all in Japanese. There's the NOVA import notification, verified Jevic certificate, specification and options print-out. The MoT certificates from 2019, 2020 and 2021 are present, with the expiry date for the last one being August 2022. A spare set of keys is included. It's now 43,548, so over the last 28 years, less than 18,000 miles has been covered. There's also a selection of tax discs and the owner's handbook. The current V5C is present, and there's also an MoT valid until August 2022. 1987 Opel Manta Exclusive 25,170 miles from new Make: Opel Model: Manta Year: 1987Mileage: 25170VIN: W0L000058H6007790Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: D438FHATransmission: manualThe Manta name was used by Opel from 1975 to 1988 to denote two generations of rear-wheel drive sports coupes. Our example is one of the later second series B2 versions, in 2.0-litre GT/E Exclusive spec. The Exclusive was comprehensively equipped with Recaro seats inside and an exterior body kit consisting of twin round headlights in a plastic cover, front spoiler, rear lower spoiler from Irmscher, side-skirts and split rear spoiler. Remarkably for a model renowned for being so entertaining to drive, this one has covered a mere 25,170 miles since new. This can be largely warranted from the history file. The service book is stamped up to 18,170 miles (September 1989) and selection of 1990s' MoTs then tracks the mileage up to April 2004, when it was 25,040. According to the SORN letters in the paperwork folder, the Manta seems to have come off the road during 2004. This was shortly after a dispute with a local garage about the quality of the work it had carried out (a letter about which is in the file). It has been SORN since then. The paperwork folder also includes the owner's manual, Philips radio cassette player booklet, tax discs and assorted other paperwork. Four former keepers are noted on the V5C, with the last owning it since 1988. The car starts and drives, but will obviously require an MoT and some recommissioning to be returned to the road. The bodywork displays some blemishes and areas where the paint has been touched up in a slightly different shade. The interior is in very good condition throughout.

1995 Vauxhall Calibra 16v AutoMake: Vauxhall Model: Calibra Year: 1995Mileage: 36791VIN: W0L000085T9000715Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: N969SRPTransmission: automatic Registered in October 1995, this 1998cc Calibra 16v automatic has had just one owner since new, according to the V5C document. While its very low odometer reading of 36,791 miles can't be completely warranted, the service booklet is stamped up to 2000, when the mileage was just 9119. The online MoT history then takes over from 2005, when the mileage had just crept up to 17,087. No more than 2000 miles between tests, at most, were then covered up to the present date. Included in the paperwork file are the current V5C and MoT certificates from 2019 and 2020. The present MoT is valid until October 2022. There's also the original document wallet with radio guide, owner's manual, security booklet, dealership guide and sundry other new car documentation. Finished in North Cape, a variation of dark purple, with pale grey interior, the condition of this car reflects its low mileage. There are some areas where the paintwork would benefit from some revival but, overall, this Vauxhall is in very good order throughout and presents well. PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR VIDEO PRODUCED 12TH OCTOBER BY ACA OF THIS CAR.

The 'Warden of the Cinque Ports' Ceremonial pennant previously fitted to Former British Prime Minister, The Right Honourable Winston Churchill's Ministerial Humber Pullman car during his post-War term 1954-55,the woven 'Standard of the Lord Warden of the Cinque Ports' pennant in red, blue and yellow quartered Heraldic design, measuring approximately 13 x 28cm, as previously adorning the bonnet of Winston Churchill's 1954 Humber Pullman official state motorcar 'PDU 758' with Thrupp & Maberly coachwork (currently on display at the Louwman Motor Museum in Holland) during his post-War second term from 1954-1955, the pennant with some fraying and discolouration commensurate with age, mounted and displayed together with a printed official compliments slip from his then Private Secretary Sir Anthony Montague Browne, bearing Churchill's 28 Hyde Park Gate, London SW7, home address, and one of Churchill's 'Romeo y Julieta' cigars with label, by Rodriguez Arguelles y Ca. of Habana, (unused), all mounted together within a wooden glazed display with green baize lining with gilded frame, measuring 28 x 34 x 8cm overall, and offered together with a chrome-plated 'Bulldog' car mascot by Desmo, evocative of Churchill's 'Fighting Spirit', marked 'Copyright' to rear of base and mounted on a wooden base, of the type once later fitted to Churchill's Daimler 35Hp Barker (owned by Churchill 1932-1952) after a restoration in the 1980s. (2)Footnotes:Winston Churchill (1874-1965), during his first Wartime term had grown attached to the government issued bullet-proof Humber Pullman cars. Having lost the May 1945 General Election to Clement Attlee's Labour Party, and after being re-elected as Prime Minister in October 1951, Churchill was in need of a suitable car and luring him away from his hitherto allegiance to his Daimler 35Hp Landaulette Limousine by Barker, William Rootes of the Rootes Group, in 1954 sold or permanently loaned Churchill the new 1954 Humber Pullman 'PDU 758' as his Official car towards the end of his second post-War term in office, on which the pennant offered here today was displayed until Churchill's retirement in April 1955.The Humber Pullmans predate the Second World War but during the War years, were only produced for British Government officials and military officers, popular for their reliability and understated luxury. Churchill's 1954 model with the Thrupp & Maberly bodywork and the largest model in the range, was fitted with a large ashtray (to accommodate his preference for his iconic Havana cigars), a (novel for the time) push button radio, and independent heating systems and was garaged at the Rootes Devonshire House Headquarters. Rootes also supplied Churchill, upon request, with a Chauffeur for the Humber Pullman, a Mr John Bullock, a company driver and eventually a favoured member of Churchill's entourage. Indeed Churchill was reported as referring to his Humber as '...The Bullock Cart'. The Churchill 1954 Humber Pullman now takes pride of place at the Louwman Motor Museum in Holland, and is displayed with a large image of Churchill with the car. This lot is subject to the following lot symbols: †† VAT at the prevailing rate on Hammer Price and Buyer's Premium. For further information on this lot please visit Bonhams.com
