A rare vintage 'ALEIXANDRE MADRID' powder compact, Spanish, c.1940's, fashioned as an acoustic guitar, the hinged top opening to reveal a bevelled mirror, powder sifter and blue swan downs powder puff, all custom made to fit the realistic guitar, made of gilt brass with faux tan leather top, cat gut strings, brass frets, the neck stamped to underside 'REGISTRADOS 17617-16189', 6¼in. (16cm.) long. * An Aleixandre Madrid guitar compact is featured in 'Vintage Compacts & Beauty Accessories' book by Lynell Schwartz and is listed as RARE. * Condition: In excellent condition, a minute corner of leather lifting in corner of neck, mirror with light foxing.
A Edward VIII cut glass and silver guilloche enamel powder jar, Barker Brothers Silver Ltd, Birmingham, 1936, the pull off silver cover with inset shaped gold guilloche enamel decoration, 4¼in. (10.8cm.) diameter, together with a vintage rectangular powder compact. (2) * Condition: The enamel work with tiny flea-bite nibbles to edges, hardly noticeable, nothing else to note.
A vintage 18ct gold, opal and diamond cluster ring, the elliptical opal displaying predominantly green, peacock blue and underlying orange iridescence, within a border of eight millegrain set diamonds, over split shoulders, ring size O. * Condition: Some scratching to top surface of opal. It is secure in the claws. Diamonds all original and in good condition, minor wear to millegrain edges. Hallmarked only '18'. Good overall.
